All Building Materials on Dondoko Island

By
Jessica Dillon

Dondoko Island gives you the task of fixing it up with furnishings to attract tourists. To do this, Ichiban must build recipes himself using the various natural resources and trash that he scavenges from around Dondoko Island. Each recipe calls for a different number and different types of resources, and knowing how to get them is important. The guide below goes over all seven basic resources, plus pearls and ore, so that you can make every recipe on Dondoko Island.

You use resources to construct furniture.

All Dondoko Island Building Resources

There are a total of seven core building resources on Dondoko Island, these can only be used to make furniture and can’t be sold. These are wood, stone, cloth, screws, plastic, glass, and microchips. The first five are available from the start of the game, but the last two won’t appear until you’ve reached Resort Rank One. These are all used to make furniture, which will massively help to raise the satisfaction points of your island and help you decorate your house to earn more health for Ichiban. Below, we take a look at all seven major resources and where to find them all.

Where to Get Wood on Dondoko Island

Wood can be obtained by smashing the purple bamboo found all around the island. At the start of your resort, these can be found in clusters around the beaches and main area. As the island expands, so does the amount of wood you have access to. Once you reach Resort Rank One, you gain the ability to place down woodworking and stoneworking areas. You are allowed to have five of each area at once. You can place up to five of these at a time, and each morning, when you wake up, resources will be placed at the pickup point beside the shop. This is a must for higher resort ranks to save time and gather enough wood to ensure that you can make the larger pieces of furniture without having to wait for multiple days at a time.

Where to Get Stone on Dondoko Island

Stone comes from breaking down the medium-sized rocks found around the island. These are generally placed near the purple bamboo that you obtain wood from, especially in the island’s first few areas. Stone becomes more prominent when you begin to build city buildings, which are worth a high amount of satisfaction points. As mentioned above, you should place a stoneworking area as soon as possible to start gathering large amounts of stone every day from the resource collection point.

Where to Get Cloth on Dondoko Island

Cloth is a bit different, as it comes from trash piles scattered around the island and is arguably the most common resource. You will get a massive amount of this material when clearing areas, and after you have paid to clear the first spot, you will start obtaining it from the resource collection point. Cloth is used in a large number of furniture recipes, especially when trying to decorate Ichiban’s house with couches and bedding. Once you reach Resort Rank Two, you can gain more cloth by placing a burnable waste dump. This will send extra cloth to the resource point every day. There are multiple versions of the waste dumps, and the final one, the oversized waste dump, will unlock once you have reached Resort Rank Four.

Where to Get Screws on Dondoko Island

Like with cloth, you will get screws from trash piles scattered around the island. This will be obtainable when you first start clearing the Entrance and Great Tree areas, but until you pay for both areas to be cleaned permanently, it won’t appear for collection at the resource area. If you want to expedite the amount of screws you obtain each day, then you will want to place nonburnable waste dumps around your island. This will also give you access to extra plastic each day. Screws are a major player in furniture building but are less common than cloth, making the collection process just a little bit slower.

Where to Get Plastic on Dondoko Island

Plastic is another common resource from the trash piles that you will be smashing through when you reach Dondoko Island. It’s not as rare as screws, and you will need a lot of it to make furniture. Like Screws, you won’t start seeing plastic in your resource pile until you have cleared both the Entrance and the Great Tree. At this point, you will get a steady stream of plastic, which tends to be one of the lesser-used resources in some of the later recipes.

Where to Get Glass on Dondoko Island

Glass is a confusing resource as it appears in furniture recipes that you will see before Resort Rank One, but there is no way to obtain it. Glass can only be obtained from the mechanical trash piles, which are filled with appliances, and you won’t find the first one until you have access to the areas that open up once you reach Resort Rank One. The appliance piles take a few more hits than regular trash piles to break down, but glass is the most common item they drop. Once you clear the Hill and Lighthouse, you will start getting this resource from the resource pick-up point. You can place the Oversized Garbage Pickup to get Glass and Semiconductors delivered daily

Where to Get Semiconductors on Dondoko Island

Semiconductors are the last resource and the rarest of the bunch. As with glass semiconductors come from the appliance trash piles found littering the island and don’t appear until you have reached Resort Rank One. Likewise, you won’t start seeing microchips appear in mass until you reach Resort Rank Three and gain access to the Meadow area, where appliance piles are much more prevalent.

Where to Get Ore and Pearls on Dondoko Island

While the majority of furniture is made from the resources above, there are a few recipes like the fountain, which will use Pearls. Pearls can only be found on Dondoko Farm near the volleyball net and along Mukku Beach. They appear as shells on the beach and are rather rare. You will also use three types of ore in furniture making: gold, platinum, and diamond. The recipes where you use ore are limited, just like with pearls, but generally grant a high amount of satisfaction points.

(1 of 2) You can gain pearls from picking up shell piles along Mukku Peach and at Dondoko Farm.

You can start finding ore once you reach Resort Rank One around the Lighthouse and Hill area. Your best chance of finding some each day is by going to Dondoko Farm and picking up all the ore piles from the area where you fight wild animals with your Sujimon.
