Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

New Hammer Silkbind Attacks and Switch Skills

By
Matt Chard

The Hammer is one of 14 weapon types in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The Hammer is known for its hard-hitting, blunt, knock-out blows. If you’re fighting a monster with a hard shell, you’ll want to use the hammer. Furthermore, the Hammer can exhaust the monster a lot quicker than most weapons. With Sunbreak, the Hammer will obtain new Silkbind Attacks as well as new Switch Skills which will add even more depth to its already powerful arsenal.

The Hammer has huge knock-out power.

New Silkbind Attack: Impact Burst

This new technique allows the Hammer to place an Ironsilk around its weapon, any charged attack after this will cause the silk to vibrate, which creates a shockwave that makes the monsters flinch easier. This only lasts a short period of time, so make sure you have your charged attacks ready to go.

New Switch Skill: Spinning Bludgeon: Charge

The Spinning Bludgeon: Charge is a new Switch Skill that allows you to store release power which can be used in the next Charge Switch attack. You do this by charging up while performing Spinning Bludgeon. This allows you to deal damage while you power up your charges to level 3.

Switch Skill Swap

This isn’t a new skill, but it is a new way to use them! The Switch Skill Swap will allow you to change your equipped skills whilst in battle. There will be two scrolls, one red, and one blue. By visiting an Item box either at the hub or in the tent during a quest, you can customize your favorite skills to each scroll.

The Switch Skill Swap system looks to reinvent the way Monster Hunter Rise is played.

When you’re in battle, you can swap between each set to give you access to your other skills. Another great addition to this system was the Swap Evade. This allows you to evade in any direction by pressing the roll button after you have swapped sets.
