Tip 1 - Battle Chart

The battle chart.

Tip 2 - Dont Just Skip to the Next Month

Once you start having to leave some trainers guarding a different castle, take advantage of this by using them to either mine for gold before you end the month. Just because you’ve fought some trainers/Pokémon, doesn’t mean you should just skip to the next month. Instead, visit every town one at a time and either use them to dig for extra cash in the mines, or perhaps even see if there’s any new trainers laying in wait.

Tip 3 - Never Leave a Castle Without 1 Trainer/Pokemon in it

Later in the game, if you start moving Trainer/Pokémon away from castles (leaving it empty), then you’ll start to find enemy leaders sending three of their goons to take over it and you can’t battle them straightaway to reclaim it back. So by leaving at least one Trainer at each castle you can prevent this from happening.

Tip 4 - Keep Eevee and Jigglypuff Buffed Up

Throughout your adventure, you need to take "Eevee" IconEevee and "Jigglypuff" IconJigglypuff with you into the main kingdom battles. So make sure you focus on keeping your link with them strong, give them some of your best accessories and apply the appropriate evolution stones to them. Whilst Jigglypuff mightn’t be the strongest, the ‘Sweet Song’ power will replenish 50HP to every team member that’s been injured, saving you on wasting Potions or Super Potions. Eevee will transform into the super-useful "Jolteon" IconJolteon who’s main move can overpower quite a few Pokémon who face ‘normal’ damage from Electric Types.

Tip 5 - Dont Commit Until Youre Ready

Our most important tip of all! Take your time with each move and suss out the best way to use each Pokémon’s attack. So you can select a Pokémon, place it where you want to and as long as you don’t click on either ‘fight’ or ‘wait’ then you can skip back with ‘B’ and retry placing it somewhere else or choose another Pokémon entirely. This allows you to see which move is the most strategic on that turn. You may discover that you’ll need to move one other colleague out of your way before you make your move (otherwise you might hurt them). Or you may discover you can risk hurting them if it means victory. There’s no time-limit on your turn, so make the most of it!
