Upon completion, you encounter a group called the Starborn who ambush you. This mission provides the following rewards:
400 XP
Mission Walkthrough
Travel to Neon, a city on Volii Alpha in the Volii System. You’ll undergo contraband scans by the Freestar Collective Ships before landing at Neon.
Speak to Walter at Neon, and he directs you to the Stroud-Eklund offices.
After clearing a checkpoint, take an elevator to the Stroud-Eklund Corporate HQ. There, you meet Issa Eklund, Walter’s partner.
Walter requests discretionary funds from the company to purchase the Artifact. Issa offers advice on investigating the seller and securing the Astral Lounge, and Walter gives you 1000 Credits for preparations.
Return to the elevator and descend to the Lobby. Speak to James Newill at Newill’s Goods to gather information about the seller.
Follow the mission marker to Ebbside, where you’ll find the unit with a locked door. Lockpick the door, read the Personal Correspondence on the computer to learn about the seller’s predicament.
Return to Bayu Plaza and proceed to the Astral Lounge in the Trade Tower. Speak to Boone Morgan and consider purchasing the Astral Lounge VIP package for security. Negotiate the price if possible.
Inspect the door controls for the Astral Lounge using the lockpicking minigame.
Return to Walter at the Stroud-Eklund Corporate HQ. He provides you with a code phrase required to identify the seller: “Ramsay and Travers.”
In the Astral Lounge, locate the seller named Musgrove. Use the code phrase to initiate negotiations. Walter advises you to secure the Artifact without risking your life.
Head to the VIP Lounge, where Musgrove awaits. Negotiate the price with him; you can convince him to accept the original deal or pay double.
Upon leaving the VIP Lounge, you encounter a Slayton Agent claiming the Artifact belongs to Slayton Aerospace. Choose to negotiate with him or engage in combat.
If negotiation is chosen, succeed in the Persuasion challenge to avoid combat.
Exit the Astral Lounge and find Issa waiting for you. She informs you about a Slayton Aerospace bounty and your impounded ship.
Follow Issa’s advice to visit Slayton Aerospace offices in the Trade Tower.
Use the elevator to reach the Slayton Aerospace floor. Persuade Ryleigh to allow you to see Nicolaus Slayton, or acquire the access code from the security office if necessary.
Proceed to the Executive Level to confront Nicolaus Slayton. You can engage in dialogue with him, proposing a business opportunity between him and Walter.
Enter the next room and deal with Musgrove according to your choice—let him go, arrest him, or eliminate him.
Exit the building using the elevators and return to your ship at the Spaceport.
Upon leaving Neon, receive a transmission from the Starborn, who demand the Artifact. Decide whether to make a run for it or hand over the Artifact, leading to the start of the “Starborn” mission.
Follow the mission marker to the Communications Building, activate the airlock, and restore power by inserting three Power Cells. Alternatively, if you have Security skills, lockpick the door and download “Emergency Transmission 01” from your inventory for coordinates. Return to Lin, where you can also recruit her to your crew.
The coordinates lead to Dalvik, another moon in the Narion System. Land at the Crashed Ship, locate Heller, and listen to “Emergency Transmission 02,” which guides you to Bessel III. You can recruit Heller before departing.
Bessel III in the Bessel System houses the Ransacked Research Outpost, now a Crimson Fleet base. Loot the area and reach the mission marker, where Barrett converses with Crimson Fleet Captain Matsura the Grim. Persuade Matsura to release Barrett, and return to the Lodge on New Atlantis. Barrett becomes a potential companion for your future travels.
“Entangled” is obtained during the “Final Glimpses” mission and must be completed as part of it. When you visit Freya III in the Freya System, you’ll receive a distress signal from the nearby Nishina Research Station. Upon landing, you’ll be greeted by Ethan Hughes, the Chief of Security, who initially denies sending the signal. However, upon mentioning that it came from the High Energy Research Lab, he allows you to enter.
Enter the Nishina Research Station, and after being scanned by Ethan, you’ll proceed further into the facility.
As you navigate through the facility, you’ll experience environmental shifts that alternate between normal and decayed states. This change is associated with shifting between different universes. In one of these shifts, you’ll encounter a Young Cataxi Warrior, which you must defeat.
Ethan will continue escorting you to meet the Director.
As you enter the Work Room, you’ll meet Rafael Aguerro, who sent the distress signal. He explains the accident that led to the distortion of realities and the shifting between universes.
Continue following Ethan to reach the Director’s Office.
While progressing through the Director’s Office, you’ll be transported back to the decayed ruins. Navigate through this alternate environment and reach the Director’s Office in this universe, defeating any Cataxi encountered along the way.
Before reaching the Director’s Office, you’ll be transported back to the intact facility. Here, you’ll finally meet Director Kaia Patel and scientist Maria Hughes. They confirm the existence of parallel universes and the goal of researching the gravitational distortion caused by the Artifact.
Discuss your next steps, including shutting down the probe responsible for the universe-shifting phenomenon. However, you learn that the Research Level is locked down, preventing access. Suggest using the elevator from Rafael’s universe as a solution.
Follow Maria to the control unit for the probe.
After reaching the control unit, you’ll be transported back to Rafael’s universe. Obtain the Nishina Pantry Key from Rafael to access the pantry, where you’ll face another Cataxi.
Proceed to the next room and return to Rafael’s universe, defeating three Cataxi before speaking with him.
Head to the next room, where you’ll be transported to Hughes’ universe, allowing you to speak to Ethan. You can also persuade him to give you a Rare Experiment A-7 Shotgun.
Interact with the Distortion to return to Hughes’ universe, then continue your journey towards the lab.
Maria will instruct you on how to reach the High Energy Research Lab. Follow her guidance.
After entering the Emergency Room, you’ll be sent back to Rafael’s universe. Continue following your mission marker, and as you approach the lab, you’ll be transported to the decayed ruins once more.
Interact with the Distortion, then head to the Director’s Office on the second floor. Defeat any Cataxi encountered along the way.
In Rafael’s universe, you’ll arrive at the Director’s Office and can speak with Kaia Patel and Maria Hughes.
Decide which universe you want to save - Rafael’s or Hughes’ - by disengaging the Power Interlocks through mission markers on the computers.
After disengaging the Power Interlocks, shut down the probe to end the universe-shifting phenomenon.
Take Artifact Lambda from the center of the mechanism.
Speak to Rafael or Director Patel, depending on your choice.
If you save Rafael’s universe, he offers to become a Crew Member and provides miscellaneous resources.
If you save Hughes’ universe, you receive a Legendary Experimental Nishina Spacesuit, a Legendary Experimental Nishina Helmet, credits, and XP.
Completing “Entangled” concludes both “Entangled” and “Final Glimpses.” To continue the main storyline, complete “Unearthed” and “Missed Beyond Measure.”
“Final Glimpses” is one of the three missions that unlock after completing “In Their Footsteps.” The other two missions are “Unearthed” and “Missed Beyond Measure,” and they can be completed in any order. After speaking to the Emissary in the previous mission, one of your objectives is to update your fellow Constellation members with your newfound knowledge about Unity.
Return to The Lodge in New Atlantis and talk to Vladimir to initiate a Constellation meeting. During the meeting, inform them about the Emissary and the reasons behind the Starborn’s pursuit of Unity. The meeting will conclude once you’ve shared this information.
After the meeting, speak to Vladimir again. He will provide you with information about where to find the remaining Artifacts. The specific planet location you receive may vary between playthroughs, but each player will be directed to Freya III. Your task is to obtain a ship with a Grav Jump range of at least 21 Light Years to reach your destination.
Acquire a ship that meets the 21LY Grav Jump Range requirement. Your Grav Jump range depends on factors like your ship’s Grav Drive, its mass, and your Astrodynamics Skill. If your current ship doesn’t meet the range, consider purchasing a new one from any Ship Vendor.
Begin by visiting the randomized planet mentioned by Vladimir to find one of the Artifacts. Follow the mission marker to reach a Spacer base where the Artifact is embedded within a Caelumite deposit. Be prepared to confront an invisible Starborn who will appear before you can obtain the Artifact.
Your next destination is Freya III, located in the Freya System. Upon arrival, you’ll receive a transmission from a nearby satellite. Nishina from the High Energy Research Lab requests immediate evacuation due to an explosion at the site. Listening to this transmission will trigger the start of the “Entangled” mission. Completing “Entangled” is a prerequisite for progressing in “Final Glimpses.”
After completing “Entangled,” “Final Glimpses” will also conclude. If you haven’t done so already, complete “Unearthed” and “Missed Beyond Measure” to continue advancing the main storyline in Starfield.
Speak to Vladimir Sall, who will be in The Lodge after completing “Starborn.” Your interaction with him will trigger additional objectives that require you to travel to different planets. These planets may vary from playthrough to playthrough. Track the quest to mark your next location, then travel there. With the quest tracked, you should be able to follow your objective marker.
Find the Artifact on Procyon VI-B:
Your quest marker may lead you to a facility guarded by Space Pirates. Navigate through the facility while pursuing the marker. The Artifact itself may be guarded by Starborn. Extract the Artifact and take it when you can reach it.
Go to B0DE:
After obtaining the Artifact on Procyon VI-B, you’ll need to repeat the process on the second listed planet, B0DE, to obtain a second Artifact.
Add the Artifacts to the Collection:
Once you have obtained both Artifacts, return to The Lodge to begin “Power from Beyond.” Add your newly obtained Artifacts to the Collection.
Talk to Matteo:
After adding the Artifacts, approach Matteo in The Lodge and speak to him. He will start to question their work. Be aware that if you agree with him, not everyone else will appreciate your answer.
Vladimir will also want to speak with you to request a favor. He needs help with some repairs at The Eye, which will aid in locating Artifacts further away. Agree to help him, and “Short Sighted” will begin shortly after your interaction.
Upon completing the mission, you’ll receive a Constellation Pack, 13,300 Credits, and 800 XP. The mission also advances the game’s plot.
Mission Walkthrough
At the conclusion of “No Sudden Moves,” Noel receives a message from Vladimir at The Eye, informing her of an attack by the Starborn. You should speak to Noel to gather more information. One of your companions who remained at The Eye is in critical condition, but Vladimir insists that you stay behind at the Lodge to protect the Artifacts. At this point, you’ll need to make a crucial decision: either defend the Lodge from the Hunter or help Vladimir and the other Constellation member at The Eye.
If you decide to stay at the Lodge:
Head upstairs to the bar and check on Walter. You’ll discover that the Hunter has infiltrated the Lodge and is attacking Walter. Defend Walter by shooting the Hunter, holding him off until Noel has gathered all the Artifacts for relocation. When Noel announces readiness, accompany her and follow her down into the basement, then through a side door into The Well. Stay close to Noel to prevent her from stopping at random locations.
Escort your fellow Constellation members through The Well and into the elevator leading to the Spaceport. Continue following them until you reach your ship. Board your ship and take off from Jemison. Once in orbit, you’ll receive a transmission from Scorpius, commending your determination. If you choose the non-attack option, the Starborn will leave you in peace for the time being, allowing you to reach The Eye safely. Upon arriving at The Eye, you’ll discover that the previously critically injured companion has unfortunately passed away. Check on your other companions and Vladimir, who are injured but alive.
If you decide to go to The Eye:
Exit the Lodge through the front doors. You’ll be approached by the companion who accompanied you to the Lodge, ensuring that you’re certain about your decision to leave, as they will soon barricade the door. Confirm your choice, then proceed to The Eye. Speak to all your companions and Vladimir to help them recover. Once this is done, return to the Lodge with everyone.
Unfortunately, upon returning to the Lodge, you’ll find your companion from the Lodge deceased in the library. After discovering their body, you’ll locate Vasco at the back of the library, Matteo in the gardens, and Walter in the upstairs bar. They’ll inform you that Noel has escaped into The Well with the Artifacts. Head to the basement and take the side door to The Well. Noel will be cowering near the staircase. Talk to her, and the Hunter will make an appearance. As in the previous scenario, escort Noel to your ship and leave The Eye. The Hunter will cease pursuit once you’re in space.
Regardless of the path you chose, your next step is to speak with Vladimir and Noel. With both The Lodge and The Eye compromised, you need to safeguard the Artifacts in a location that is inconvenient for the Starborn to access. You can either store them on your mobile ship or choose a defensible outpost. Note that the location you select for the Armillary will affect its vulnerability to Starborn attacks.
After constructing the Armillary, return to The Lodge on New Atlantis. You’ll learn that the belongings of the deceased have been transferred to a storage container in the basement. Speak to Matteo, who will share his observations regarding the Hunter’s attack, including the repeated mention of ‘Unity.’ He suggests visiting the priest of Sanctum Universum to investigate the significance of this phrase.
The Emissary wants me to search the Earth’s Moon for a secret connected to the Artifacts.

Mission Walkthrough
The “In Their Footsteps” mission begins immediately after you finish “Unity.” When you arrive at Oborum III in the Oborum Prime System, the Hunter will send a transmission to your ship, inviting you to board his ship, the Scorpius.
Upon docking with the Scorpius, you’ll have a conversation with the Hunter and meet another Starborn known as the Emissary. The Emissary reveals that they were the pilot of the Helix, the ship that initially confronted you in Volii Alpha space during the “All That Money Can Buy” mission. Their intention was to warn you about collecting the rest of the Artifacts, as other Starborn are pursuing them with less benign intentions. As the conversation unfolds, the discussion turns to the topic of “Unity,” and the Emissary discloses that they are the Companion who died during the “High Price to Pay” mission. They originate from a different universe, where you were the one who died in their place.
The Hunter, whose true identity is revealed as Keeper Aquilus from another universe, joins the conversation as well.
The Emissary and the Hunter present different perspectives on how to approach “Unity.” The Emissary seeks a truce among the three of you, aiming to carefully select who gains access to Unity, while the Hunter believes that rules and constraints serve as a means for those in power to control others and advocates for making Unity accessible to all. You have the option to engage in further dialogue with both of them to understand their motivations, goals, and the significance of being Starborn.
After departing from the Scorpius, the Emissary contacts you once more, providing information to help you locate the remaining Artifacts in this universe. They suggest discussing the next steps with Constellation. Subsequently, you’ll unlock three new main missions: “Unearthed,” “Final Glimpses,” and “Missed Beyond Measure.” These missions can be completed in any order but must all be completed to progress the storyline.
Vladimir says he can help track down more of the temples in the future for any Artifacts we find.
Description
“Into the Unknown” is a significant Main Mission featured in the Starfield universe. In this mission, players embark on an adventure alongside Vladimir to search for elusive Artifacts.
“Into the Unknown” is one of three missions unlocked after completing “The Old Neighborhood,” with the other two being “The Empty Nest” and “Back to Vectera.” Players receive a request from Sarah to check on Vladimir, a Constellation member overseeing Constellation’s starstation, The Eye. The Eye orbits Jemison within the Alpha Centauri System. After reaching and docking with The Eye, players can board the starstation.
Vladimir Sall can be found seated behind a desk at the end of the starstation. He will mark the player’s starmap with potential Artifact locations and request assistance in locating Andreja, another Constellation member with extended field experience. Players have the option to inquire about Vladimir’s history with the Crimson Fleet, initiating the Activity “Visit Vladimir’s House.” Subsequently, players can choose to visit either Procyon III or Nira. Both planets must be visited to progress in the mission.
Procyon III is located in the Procyon A System. During the initial visit, players receive a transmission from Mrs. Whitmore, who explains that her ship and class have become stranded on the planet due to a Grav Drive malfunction. Players can assist by providing 10 Ship Parts to repair the leakage. Upon completing this task, players can proceed to the Occupied Cave to advance the main mission. The journey through the cave involves confronting Pack Coralbug Stalkers, collecting valuable items, and ultimately retrieving Artifact Zeta from ore deposits.
Nitra is part of the Narion System. Landing at the Abandoned Mine, players confront Sirens while progressing toward the mission marker. Deep within the cave known as the Deep Cave, players meet Andreja, a fellow Constellation member who becomes a companion for this mission. Players encounter robots in the area and can choose to either disable them or calibrate them to fight on their side using a nearby computer. Advancing further, players reach the Artifact location, gather Artifact Iota from Caelumite deposits, and gain Andreja as a Companion for future missions.
Returning to the Lodge at New Atlantis, players add the acquired Artifacts to Constellation’s collection. A friendly competition with Matteo is initiated, and Andreja becomes available as a Companion for upcoming Missions. Vladimir contacts the player, revealing new, enigmatic scanner readings. Players are tasked with returning to Procyon III, where The Eye’s scanners have detected an even larger Artifact reading. However, the exact location remains elusive.
The journey leads back to Procyon III within the Procyon A System, where players can land at the Scanner Anomaly. Using their scanner, players follow distortions that guide them to Temple Eta. Inside the temple, players navigate an anti-gravity field and gain their first Power, “Anti-Gravity Field.” This tutorial introduces players to Powers and how to equip them through the Powers menu. Returning to the Lodge at New Atlantis, players engage in a meeting where they demonstrate the “Anti-Gravity Field” ability. Vladimir raises the possibility of Artifacts having their own temples, each potentially granting additional Powers. Players can periodically visit Vladimir for updates on temple readings, and they will receive notifications when planets with temples are encountered.
The “Into the Unknown” mission concludes, and players unlock the Miscellaneous Mission “Power from Beyond” to track visited and unvisited temples.
“Missed Beyond Measure” stands as a significant Main Mission within the Starfield universe. This mission calls upon players to participate in a memorial service.
Mission Objectives
Wait for the Service (5 UT Days)
(Optional) Wait 24 Hours (UT) to Skip the Memorial
Upon the completion of “Missed Beyond Measure,” players receive the following rewards:
750 XP
Mission Walkthrough
After concluding the events of “In Their Footsteps” and arriving at The Lodge, Noel will halt the player’s progress upon approaching other Constellation members.
Noel expresses her desire to gather everyone for a proper farewell to a deceased crew member, based on previous player choices, specifically during the “High Price to Pay” events.
Players can choose to attend the memorial service immediately or opt to complete “Unearthed” and “Final Glimpses” before returning.
Alternatively, players can expedite time by interacting with their room’s bed and selecting the ‘Wait until Memorial’ option.
Once players choose to attend, they arrive during a fellow member’s speech, concluding with an opportunity to offer their own words.
The speech content is customizable through player choices. Noel acknowledges and appreciates the player’s contribution.
During the event, players can interact with other attendees, fostering deeper connections with companions. Aja Mamasa, Constellation’s former chair, is also present for the first time.
Engaging with Barrett (if he survived previous events) reveals insights into his feelings, allowing players to earn his approval.
Upon concluding interactions and when ready, players can exit The Lodge to complete the mission.
Upon completion, you’ll acquire the Artifact from Captain Petrov. However, something seems to be wrong in The Lodge. You should investigate to find out what’s happening. The mission provides a reward of 750 XP.
Mission Walkthrough
“No Sudden Moves” begins right after you complete “Short Sighted.” Speak to Vladimir at The Eye. He will inform you about a job involving stealing an Artifact from Captain Petrov. The companion accompanying you may vary depending on your playthrough. If you indicate that you’re ready to proceed immediately, your companion will be locked as your follower for the mission’s duration.
Track the quest to set a marker for your destination, and make your way to The Scow, Captain Petrov’s salvage ship. It is located in the Procyon A System.
Board the Scow:
Once you locate The Scow, attempt to hail it to interact with the crew. They will initially refuse visitors. You will have a few options to proceed.
(Optional) Disable the Engines:
If you choose to disable the engines, this can serve as a distraction.
(Optional) Talk your way in:
You can use persuasion or other dialogue options to gain entry to The Scow. Depending on your companion, certain choices may be more effective.
Find Captain Petrov:
Enter The Scow and navigate through its interior to locate Captain Petrov.
Access Petrov’s Vault:
Engage in dialogue with Captain Petrov and express your interest in his Artifact. Depending on your companion or your persuasion skills, you may convince him to show you his collection.
(Optional) Fight Petrov:
If peaceful negotiations fail, you may engage in combat with Captain Petrov. After reducing his health sufficiently, he will surrender, allowing you to take the Artifact without further harm.
(Optional) Pick the Vault Door Lock:
If persuasion and combat aren’t viable options, you can attempt to pick the lock of Petrov’s vault.
(Optional) Pickpocket the Key to the Vault:
Another option is to pickpocket the key to the vault from Petrov.
Follow Petrov:
Depending on your choices, Petrov may lead you to his vault, where you can obtain the Artifact.
Steal the Artifact:
Retrieve the Artifact from Petrov’s vault.
Leave the Scow:
Exit The Scow after obtaining the Artifact.
Add the Artifact to the Collection:
Return to the Frontier and set a course for New Atlantis. Visit The Lodge to add the Artifact to the collection, triggering the next mission, “High Price to Pay.”
One Giant Leap is a crucial Main Mission in Starfield that tasks players with constructing the Armillary on their ship. Having collected all the Artifacts, players must now assemble them into the Armillary onboard their ship.
One Giant Leap commences immediately after the completion of Revelation. With all the Artifacts in the player’s possession, they can proceed to construct the Armillary. Before doing so, players have the option to visit their friends and inform them about their accomplishments. This is the last opportunity to converse with Companions and other Constellation friends at The Lodge and The Eye to bid farewell. Speaking with Companions at this point in the game can significantly increase their approval.
When prepared, players should access their ship and utilize the onboard computer to build the Armillary. After departing from the current planet or moon, power up the Grav Drive to initiate an automatic boost to the Unity. As players progress, they will encounter their own reflection, engaging in a significant conversation. The reflection offers players a choice: to walk into the gate of light and become Starborn or to turn around and return to the familiar people and universe.
Before making the decision, players can explore and approach visions of people they know. At the Constellation table, players can learn about the impact of their alignment choice:
Siding with the Emissary leads to her seeking other noble Starborn.
Siding with the Hunter results in the spread of his views on seizing power among other Starborn.
Choosing neither aligns with the path to Unity being discovered by the people on their own.
Players must then make their decision. Leaving the Unity behind returns players to their ship with all the Artifacts, allowing them to continue the game and finish any remaining tasks. To conclude the game, players should walk into the giant ball of light. This triggers the display of beautiful images of the universe and the credits roll.
Upon the completion of the credits, New Game Plus begins in the One Small Step mission. In New Game Plus, players retain their character levels, skills, and powers but lose their items and relationship progress with Companions.
The Vectera Mines: The mission starts with players on a mining expedition on Vectera, accompanied by Supervisor Lin and Heller. Players will learn how to use tools and weapons and collect mineral deposits. While mining, they will experience a mysterious event involving an Artifact.
Character Creation: After the Artifact incident, players will be directed to the character creation screen, where they can customize their character’s appearance, background, and traits.
Conversation with Barrett: Players will engage in a conversation with Barrett, who will discuss the Artifact and invite them to join Constellation.
Boarding the Ship: Players will board a ship with Barrett, starting their journey and receiving a tutorial on ship flying.
Fighting Pirates on Kreet: Upon landing on Kreet, players will explore and encounter hostile wildlife. They will also learn how to use the scanner to gather information about the planet’s lifeforms. The objective is to reach the Kreet Research Lab and deal with Crimson Fleet Pirates.
Meeting Constellation at New Atlantis: Players will make the jump to Jemison and land at New Atlantis. They will explore the city, interact with NPCs, and proceed to The Lodge in the MAST District. Here, they will meet Sarah Morgan and other Constellation members, participate in a meeting, and place the Artifact on the table.
Revelation is a pivotal Main Mission in Starfield, guiding players to recover the last of the Artifacts. Players are tasked with journeying to the Buried Temple on Masada III, where they will confront the Hunter and his allies in pursuit of the final Artifact.
Revelation initiates after players complete the set of missions consisting of Entangled, Final Glimpses, Missed Beyond Measure, and Unearthed. Upon completing these missions and collecting all available Artifacts, players must journey to the Buried Temple on Masada III for the final Artifact. The mission unfolds with various objectives, including combat encounters, exploration, and decision-making.
Completion: Upon successfully persuading or defeating The Hunter and The Emissary and acquiring their Artifacts, players must speak to their ally if they chose to align with one. The ally will provide all the Artifacts in their possession to complete the entire set. Revelation concludes when players claim Artifact Mu and experience a vision outside the Buried Temple.
“Short Sighted” will begin as soon as you finish “Further Into the Unknown.” Vladimir will ask you and some other Constellation members to help him with repairs on The Eye to enhance its capabilities for locating more Artifacts. Fly up to The Eye, and you’ll be assigned various tasks around the station.
Check in on Everyone:
Barrett will ask for help in testing the star station’s connectivity.
Sarah will request you to pick up a wrench from nearby.
Sam will seek assistance with welding the panel he’s working on.
Andreja will ask you to help her assemble some parts.
During these tasks, you may inadvertently break something. However, proceed with the tasks as assigned.
Return to Vladimir:
After completing the tasks or encountering any issues, return to Vladimir to discuss the progress and complete the mission. This will lead into the next mission, “No Sudden Moves.”
Note:
Whichever companion breaks what they’re working on will be stuck on The Eye for the next couple of missions.
Constellation has a new rial in our search for the Artifacts. Who are the Starborn and how much do they know?
Description
“Starborn” is a main mission in Starfield that revolves around the mysterious group known as Starborn.
Mission Objectives
Surrender the Artifact or Grav Jump to Anywhere.
Attend the Lodge Meeting.
Talk to Noel.
Talk to Sarah.
Unlock Requirements
You can unlock the “Starborn” mission automatically after completing “All That Money Can Buy.” The mission becomes available after you make a decision on how to handle the encounter with the Helix ship.
Mission Rewards (Upon Completion)
Upon completion, Constellation makes progress in its search for the Artifacts. The mission provides the following rewards:
Surrender the Artifact: Choosing this option leads to the Helix ship leaving peacefully. Afterward, you must make your way to The Lodge for the meeting.
Grav Jump to Anywhere: If you select this option, you are still required to attend a meeting at The Lodge in New Atlantis. Upon arriving at The Lodge, speak to Noel. You can request her to analyze the data from your ship sensors, which she will proceed to transfer. Listen to the discussions during the meeting, then talk to Noel. Take a seat and participate in the meeting.
During the meeting, different viewpoints are expressed:
The Empty Nest is a Main Mission in Starfield that tasks the player with joining an expedition led by Sam Coe. Completing Missions in Starfield allows players to uncover the world and characters of the game. Players can engage in Main Missions to advance the main storyline or take on optional Side Missions to enrich the game’s lore and encounter unique NPCs, enemies, and bosses.
Start by speaking to Sam Coe in the gardens of The Lodge. He will explain the expedition to Akila City on Akila, where you aim to find another Artifact.
Travel to Akila in the Cheyenne System and land at Akila City after being scanned by the Freestar Rangers.
Speak to Sam again by the city entrance to learn more about your mission. He becomes your companion for this mission.
Your first task is to visit the GalBank vault to find maps made by one of Sam’s ancestors. On the way, you’ll be informed about a bank robbery and have the opportunity to help.
Complete the Faction Mission “Job Gone Wrong” to progress. Then, return to the bank and head to the vault’s lower level. Find the storage locker containing the Note for Sam, which reveals Jacob Coe’s involvement.
Speak to Sam, and if desired, persuade him to reveal Jacob’s identity. Succeed in persuasion by earning 4 Persuasion ‘points’ through dialogue choices.
Follow the quest marker to the Coe Estate to confront Jacob, who is reluctant to give up the maps.
Choose one of three options: persuade Jacob, have Sam distract Jacob, or ask Cora to help convince Jacob to surrender the maps.
If you persuade Jacob, get the key to the room with Solomon’s Maps. Retrieve the maps and proceed.
Sam deduces that the Artifact is in a cave within Shaw Gang territory, also on Akila. Follow the quest marker to the Empty Nest but be cautious due to turret defenses.
In the Empty Nest, you can deactivate or calibrate the turrets for protection. Proceed, defeating Shaw Gang members on your way.
Enter the cave and defeat the Shaw Gang members guarding it. One of them holds the Shaw Gang Cave Key to unlock the gate ahead.
Inside the cave, collect another Artifact, Artifact Chi. You’ll experience visions but remain conscious this time.
Leave the hideout with Sam after obtaining the Artifact.
Shaw confronts you as you exit. You can persuade her to back off peacefully or choose to help the Shaw Gang deal with an Ashta.
Return to the Lodge, place the Artifact, and attend the Constellation meeting to complete the quest. Sam becomes an unlockable Companion.
We’ve added the Artifact to the collection and Sarah has offered to keep travelling with me in the future.
Description
The Old Neighborhood is a Main Mission in Starfield. This mission involves searching for another Artifact during your first assignment with Sarah. Completing missions allows players to explore the world and delve deeper into the characters and lore of Starfield. Sarah has requested a discussion about your inaugural mission.
“The Old Neighborhood” begins immediately after the conclusion of “One Small Step.” Sarah suggests exploring New Atlantis and interacting with other Constellation members. However, you can initiate “The Old Neighborhood” by speaking with her right away. She shares that she received a tip from a contact in the United Colonies Vanguard and asks for your company to the UC Vanguard recruiting office. Sarah becomes your follower after this conversation.
The UC Vanguard office is located in the MAST District. Follow the quest marker to the MAST building and interact with Commander John Tuala at the reception desk. You can also engage in the Faction Mission “Supra et Ultra” by signing up with him, but to progress this quest, opt to discuss Constellation business. Commander Tuala directs you to Moara, a UC Vanguard volunteer stationed on Mars. Since Mars is in the Sol System, you’ll need to travel there from the Alpha Centauri System.
Upon reaching Mars space, your ship undergoes a contraband scan by a United Colonies Ship. Once cleared, land at Cydonia on Mars. Follow the quest marker to the Central Hub and enter the Broken Spear Bar. Engage with the bartender, Jack, to inquire about Moara. Jack informs you that Moara hasn’t been seen recently. He claims that Moara has an outstanding tab, offering his assistance in exchange for payment. Sarah intervenes, reducing the price for information, and you can further persuade Jack to provide the information for free.
If persuasion is attempted, you have three attempts to accumulate 4 Persuasion points. Potential persuasive statements include:
“Every minute that passes he could be in danger.” (+6)
“What matters to you more, the money or Moara’s life?” (+2)
“We could be the only ones that can find him.” (+2)
Whether you pay Jack or persuade him, he discloses that Moara was last headed to Venus, a short journey within the same star system. Upon reaching Venus, navigate cautiously through asteroids while avoiding detection by the Va’ruun Zealot Ships. The game offers guidance on minimizing ship system power to evade detection. Proceed slowly to the Satellite Beacon and listen to Moara’s transmission, which indicates his journey to the Nova Galactic Staryard.
The Nova Galactic Staryard floats in Luna space, also within the Sol System. Sarah advises caution when boarding the staryard, and you’ll receive a brief tutorial on docking and boarding starstations and ships. Once ready, board the Nova Galactic Staryard and enter the main staryard.
Within the staryard, you’ll encounter several Spacers. Follow the quest marker to the Control Room and ascend the stairs to the upper level. Continue up the next set of stairs into the Workroom. The left door requires lockpicking but contains a storage crate. Proceed to the right, descend the stairs into a cargo bay, and follow the quest marker to locate Vanguard Moara’s Slate. This discovery reveals that Moara intends to lure the Spacers to Neptune to deal with them.
Upon reaching Neptune, a lone drifting spaceship draws your attention. As you approach, you receive comms from Moara Otero, requesting assistance with mercenaries who have hijacked his ship. Disable the ship’s engines to enable boarding. Engage the Spacers, and the quest marker updates with each Spacer defeated.
I need to gather any remaining Artifacts that Constellation has uncovered. Once I have them, the Starborn will be waiting at the Buried Temple.

Mission Walkthrough
Walkthrough: The “Unearthed” mission follows the completion of the “In Their Footsteps” mission. At the end of “In Their Footsteps,” the Emissary provides you with a key to an Artifact and instructs you to investigate Earth’s Moon (Luna) for more information.
Head to the Sol System and land on the Nova Galactic Research Station located on the moon Luna.
Investigate the Research Station by entering the station with the Moon Base Key provided by the Emissary.
As you progress through the station, look for the airlock on your left. Unlock it using the Moon Base Key.
Continue exploring the station and gather supplies from storage boxes.
Locate a computer within the station, which contains information about the Nova Galactic Research. It reveals details about Project Prism.
Head to the roof of the research station, following the objective marker.
Play the recording on the roof to gather more information.
Upon arrival at the NASA Launch Tower, find a way to enter the facility.
Enter NASA and explore the facility.
Search for information about NASA, the Martian sample, the prototype Grav Drive, and Grav Drive side effects by accessing the relevant computer terminals.

Leave NASA and head back outside.
Talk to the Emissary, who will be waiting for you on Earth. Discuss your findings with her.
You will learn about the consequences of the Artifact’s use in advancing space travel technology, the impact on Earth, and the importance of gathering all the Artifacts. You’ll have the option to align with the Emissary’s viewpoint, the Hunter’s viewpoint, or choose a neutral stance.
Regardless of your choice, you’ll be informed about a final showdown at The Buried Temple, where all parties with collected Artifacts will converge for a decisive confrontation.
The completion of the “Unearthed” mission will prompt you to finish “Final Glimpses” if you haven’t already. To start the next main mission, “Revelation,” you will need to complete “Final Glimpses,” “Missed Beyond Measure,” and “Unearthed.”
Upon completing the mission, you’ll receive 800 XP, which contributes to your character’s progression.
Mission Walkthrough
The “Unity” mission begins immediately after you finish “High Price to Pay.” At the conclusion of the previous quest, Matteo suggests visiting Keeper Aquilus of the Sanctum Universum to discover the meaning behind “Unity,” a word frequently mentioned by the Starborn. You’ll find Matteo conversing with Keeper Aquilus outside the Sanctum in New Atlantis, near the Freestar Collective Embassy. Join the conversation and express your interest in discussing “Unity.” Keeper Aquilus will invite you inside the Sanctum Universum for a more private discussion.
Sit at the table and share your experiences with Keeper Aquilus. He’ll recount an old tale about a pilgrim who discovered the “true meaning of Unity” and provides you with the phrase “Infinitum Addendum.” You’ll be advised to speak with a member of House Va’ruun and the House of Enlightenment, both of whom may offer different versions of the story.
The House of Enlightenment can be found in The Well on New Atlantis. Follow the mission marker to meet Andy Singh. Inform him about Keeper Aquilus and the Pilgrim. Andy Singh will tell you a story, not of the Pilgrim, but of the Drifter, featuring numerous references to the ‘second’ person. In his interpretation, ‘Unity’ is equated with ‘the One.’
The House of Va’ruun prisoner, Mir’za, is located at the UC Security Office in the Spaceport of New Atlantis. Enter the security office, proceed to the far right, and speak to her through the cell. Mir’za will recount the story of the Unbeliever, describing ‘four’ conflicts over ‘one hundred and twenty’ days assigned by the Great Serpent to test Va’ruun’s faith. In her interpretation, ‘Unity’ is portrayed as a deceptive shadow meant to mislead the faithless.
Return to Keeper Aquilus at the Sanctum Universum and share the three numbers and the code phrase you obtained earlier. You’ll help Keeper Aquilus connect the dots between each story. He’ll then direct you to the second planet in the Indum System, specifically at the coordinates 4,120. Before departing, Keeper Aquilus will inquire about your interpretation of ‘Unity,’ allowing you to respond with your perspective.
Board your ship and travel to Indum II within the Indum System. Land on Pilgrim’s Rest and equip your scanner. Inside a greenhouse-like structure, you’ll discover Pilgrim’s Writing 3 and Pilgrim’s Writing 4. In an open area beneath tarp, you’ll find Pilgrim’s Writing 2. Pilgrim’s Writing 1 can be located in a makeshift shack, with Pilgrim’s Writing 5 inside. These writings provide clues for unlocking the locked door within the shack. To unlock the door, select the following options:
What is the Unity?
People are necessary. But people are madness.
Myself.
In stopping. In embracing compassion.
After providing these responses, you’ll gain access to the locked room. Inside, you’ll find Trackers Primer 02, which permanently increases your ballistic weapon damage by 5%, and a Rare Sidestar inside one of the storage boxes. Most importantly, you’ll discover Pilgrim’s Final Writing, which directs you to Hyla II.
Hyla II can be reached in the Hyla System. Upon arrival, you’ll encounter a Crimson Fleet Reaper and must engage it in combat while navigating through an asteroid field. If you defeat the reaper, you’ll receive a transmission from a UC Ship offering a reward for your assistance. After dealing with this encounter, land on the Ancient Ruins. Proceed to your mission marker, which will lead you to unique-looking ruins. On a circular platform, a beam of light will illuminate a distant constellation. Using the provided glyph, manipulate the beam of light to illuminate each point in the constellation. You can move the beam of light upwards, left, right, or down by selecting the corresponding parts of the glyph.
Upon successfully completing the constellation, the ruins will point you to the final star in the Scorpius constellation. Head to Oborum III in the Oborum Prime System to conclude the mission, leading into “In Their Footsteps.”
