After seeing all her friends captured on Ija Nöj, Tchia meets a new friend named Youl, who is willing to help her take down Meavora. Chapter VIII is one of the longest in the game, with some unique gameplay elements that make full use of Tchia’s soul jumping ability. You will be going to four different locations, and it can be quite easy to get lost or turned around during chapter VII. The guide below goes over how to shut down all the factories completely and progress toward the final few chapters of Tchia.

Starting Chapter VII and Meeting Youl in Tchia¶

Once you are done watching Tchia’s friends being captured by Meavora’s minions, you will begin chapter VII. The first part of this will introduce a new character named Youl. He’s a hacker who asks for Tchia’s help as his father, Alexis. To do this, you must attack the four factories around Madra Nöj. Once you’re done speaking with Youl, and engage in a quick time event, fast travel back to the Gwâ dock if you have unlocked it. You will need to either soul jump or sail around to the first factory on the south side of the island Xupi Maano.

How to Find Xupi Maano, The Fabric Factory¶

Once you get close to Xupi Maano, a cutscene will play revealing that Tchia’s Father has been imprisoned in the fabric factory. After the cutscene, you will be transported to a nearby cliff, pull out your camera and take a picture of each of the smokestacks. You will need to zoom in and focus to get a clear shot.

Once this is done, Youl will tell you that you must shut down the other three factories on the island to free your Father from Xupi Maano. For your next goal, head northwest to Xupi Atü to take down the first factory.

How to Complete Xupi Atü, The Mine¶

Once you arrive at Xupi Atü, you can choose to take pictures of the smokestacks or begin attacking the factory outright. Your main goal here is to destroy the three drills around the factory. This can be done by summoning Mwaken or by soul jumping into the many explosive objects around the factory.

Drills are rather large and have explosive icons that let you find them easily within the map. You can take out the drills with or without defeating all the Maano. If you don’t take out all the Maano now, you can always return to the factories later to clear them out and get the treasure chests.

How to Complete Xupi Macii, The Slaughterhouse¶

The next factory is located to the east of Aëmoon. Once again, you can choose to take pictures using the marked locations as indicators or hop right into to the destination. Xupi Mäcii does take a bit longer as you are going to have to find and destroy 11 batteries in order to shut everything down. Luckily, this is rather easy to do since there are cords leading directly to each one.

You won’t need to use explosives to destroy the batteries either, just pull out your slingshot and hit the glowing green area on top of each station. When a battery is no longer powered, the cord will go dark so that there isn’t a chance of mixing up which ones are active. If you get lost, go back to the center of the factory or soul jump into a bird to get an aerial view of the remaining batteries.

How to Complete Xupi Nüü, The Lab¶

The last factory is all the way on the east side of the island, so you will want to use your boat or soul jumping to reach it. Luckily there is a dock in between Xupi Mäcii and Xupi Nüü at Mëëlo. Once you arrive at the factory, you can choose to take pictures or make your way into the lab using your soul jumping ability. Once inside, you will find that a Xetiwa is being used for power. To shut down this factory, you must free the critter by finding and soul jumping into a crab.

Luckily, there is an office room inside of the lab that has a ton of crabs. There should be one scuttering around the second floor and a ton in the room below you. Just pick them up and place them in your backpack. Once you make it over to the Xetiwa, soul jump into the crab and use its special ability to cut off all four chains. This will free the Xetiwa and make the last chimney available for clogging at Xupi Maano

How to Complete Xupi Maano¶

You should now head back to Xupi Maano on the west side of the island. Here you will need to make your way to the chimneys and use an explosive on each one to clog them. This can be done by using Mwaken to blow up each one easily. Once you have clogged all three chimneys, the power will shut off, allowing Youl to hack in. After this, an emotional cutscene will play before you are moved to chapter VIII.
