Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Rody Recruitment Guide

By
Shane Williams

There are 120 recruitable characters in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes and they are typically obtained naturally throughout the main story, but some will require you to seek them out on your own. There are some that even require you to do something extra, which is the case with Rody. He wants you to find him a Pearl Pocket Watch that can be found in the Great Sandy Sea.

The Aspiring Watchmaker Rody joins the Alliance!

Rody Location

You can recruit Rody in a town called Dabavin which you’ll reach after the Shandar Ridge Dungeon, but this won’t be available until you reach the main quest Across the Desert which is around the halfway point of the adventure. Once you’ve stepped foot in Dabavin, head down to the bottom floor and speak with Rody who can be found standing near the Item shop, he’ll request that you bring him an Pearl Pocket Watch before considering joining the Alliance.

Pearl Pocket Watch Locations

Pearl Pocket Watches have a chance of being obtained when you appraise an Unknown Pocket Watch and these are dropped from Desert Killers which reside in the Great Sandy Sea. This place is only accessible by speaking with the chap at the dock in Impershi’arc. There is only a 5-10% chance of these items to drop, but you can increase this slightly by equipping the Lucky Badge which is found in the Seaside Cavern.

(1 of 2) Head to the Great Sandy Sea

Head to the Great Sandy Sea (left), and fight Desert Killers for a chance to get the Unknown Pocket Watch as a reward. (right)

We recommend that you farm these enemies until you have at least 5-10 Unknown Pocket Watches in your possession and then return to the nearby town and appraise them to see if you get a Pearl Pocket Watch. If not then you’ll need to return to the Great Sandy Sea and farm some more, but don’t feel like you’re wasting your time as you’ll be earning EXP and you can sell the other watches for lots of money! Once you’ve recruited Rody, he can be placed in the support slot and will increase the action speed of your allies. He will also run the Appraisal shop at your HQ once built.
