The Abandoned Mine is the first major dungeon that’ll become available during the Searching the Tunnels mission in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes. On this page, we’ll provide you with the necessary steps to finding all chests and completing all of the puzzles.

Abandoned Mine Chests¶
The Abandoned Mine is a rather large dungeon, and as such, you’ll find there are plenty of chests waiting for you, 28 in fact! The table below will show you what you can obtain from them.

Abandoned Mine Enemies¶
You’ll come across Carcasseater, Land Octopus, Aether Slime, Rabbit Mage, Rabbit Lancer, Angry Bear, and Death Trackers throughout the dungeon. Most of these won’t cause you much trouble, but Rabbit Mages can use an AoE attack, Carrot Smash, which can deal lots of damage, so you’ll want to pay close attention to your HP and make sure it’s topped up to reduce the risk of dying.
Explore the Tunnels and Pursue the Suspicious Trio¶
There are tons of chests scattered around the dungeon and these require you to manipulate minecarts around the area to reach them. Once you get into the mine, open the chest at the entrance for 900 Baqua and head north. Push the cart forward to free the path, then continue going north until you reach another cart. Pull this down to the south slightly so you can access the chest up ahead later, then go back and take the path to the east.

Push another cart to the end of the track, collect the stone, and head to the end of the eastern path to find another chest containing x900 Baqua. Backtrack a little and go north, then head west at the fork in the path and move the cart to open the chest for a Topaz Ring. Make your way back over to the fork in the path and you’ll see another chest which is blocked by a cart, pull this down to the south and do a loop around the area to open the chest which contains a Rune of Earth. Continue heading east until you find a cart with a rock inside it and push it into a boulder up ahead to break it before heading up to the Abandoned Mine-Midpoint.
Abandoned Mine-Midpoint¶
Head all the way across to the east to find a chest that contains a Heavy Helm, then make your way up the nearby ramp and cross the bridge to the west. Continue further up via another ramp and open the chest for x900 Baqua and then do a loop around the rock to find another chest that contains Antivenom Herb x6. Walk across the bridge to reach the center rock pillar and open the chest for a Rune of Feint Thrust, then continue across to the eastern rock pillar and head down.

Loop around the rock to find Hiro (Merchant) and two chests which contain x900 Baqua and a Rune of Power, then head back down to the first floor and follow the path around to the east until you reach the next area. You can’t go north, so head west and place both of the carts on the contraption and press the button. Cross the gap and open the chest for some Healing Herbs, then go into the next area to find another chest that contains Revival Medicine x2.
Now you’ll want to take the minecart in the center of the room and push it all the way to the west to break a boulder, open the now accessible chest for a Rune of Resistance. Head southwest and enter the next room, open the chest for some more Healing Herbs, then move the cart to create a shortcut before going north. From here, you’ll want to go east and south to find a chest that contains x900 Baqua then continue heading east until you reach a dead end.

Open the chest to obtain the Anti-Poison Beads accessory and then look for a small doorway between four boulders, fully explore this platform to find three chests that contain Antivenom Herb x6, Growth Badge, and Magic Drops. Make your way back down to the ground and head into the next area to the north and open the chest in the center for Revival Medicine x2, then go over to the easternmost point of the room to find a chest that contains a Fluffy Shield. This is ideal for someone like Garr to give him some Armor.

Head up the small ramp into the northeast corner to find another chest that contains a Rune of Water and go back down, then north until you reach a fork in the path. Head east to find a chest that contains a Rune of Skill, then make your way all the way over to the west side to find a chest that contains a Rune of Defense. Return to the center and head north to reach the next area, open the chest near the entrance for Quality Herbs x6 and then head north until you reach a cart.
Interact with the cart and ram it into the wall on the right to cause a boulder to fall into it, then push it all the way to the west to break open another boulder. Here you’ll be greeted by another contraption, but this time you’ll want to ram the cart in the back into the wall to get another boulder to fall into it, then place both carts onto the contraption and hit the red button. Open the chest for x900 Baqua and head west to reach the Abandoned Mine -Depths.

Abandoned Mine - Depths¶
Head north to reach a fork in the path, take the west path first to find a chest that contains a Rune of Speed and then go east and follow the path around find a chest at the end of the path that contains Magic Drop x2. Make your way over to the northwest corner of the map to find a chest that contains some Dash Boots, then go over to the northernmost point to find a chest that contains a Rune of Fire before finally making your way over to the next area to trigger a scene. Before the Abandoned Mine is completed you’ll now have to face Yuthus, Kogen and Zabi all at once!
