Delsin Rowe’s Conduit power is the ability to absorb and use other Conduits’ powers as his own. When the game begins, he will only have access to a single power (Smoke), but will gain access to a total of three others. Once he has more than one power at his disposal, he must find a source and absorb it in order to access the other power set.

For example, Delsin has both Smoke and Neon powers, with his current power being Neon. In order to switch back to Smoke, he will need to find a source, like a smoking car, and press the Touch Pad.

Delsin absorbing smoke from a damaged car (left), and neon from a store sign (right).

Each power that Delsin learns has a basic moveset that is pretty standard throughout all powers. All of them have their own skill tree, where Delsin can spend Blast Shards he collects to enhance those powers. Some are restricted to your Karmic choice, as well as the different levels of Karma. Not all abilities are available as soon as you obtain a power, with you obtaining more as you progress in the story.

Basic abilities include:

  • A normal shot
  • A missile-like projectile
  • A dash maneuver
  • A special ability exclusive to that power
  • A super move

It’s been seven years since the Cole McGrath episodes and the world has clearly changed. Anyone showing signs of being a so-called “bio-terrorist” is immediately handed over to the Department of Unified Protection (DUP) – a government agency created to ensure there is never a repeat of the catastrophic events of Empire City and New Marais. So Delsin, who has never been particularly respectful of authority, finds himself caught in the DUP dragnet, and decides he’s not going to go quietly.
