Where To Find Ellie¶
After Ellie has been kidnapped by David you’ll wake up as Joel and you’ll need to find her, so grab the Revolver Ammo x2 from the house before leaving, then follow the path along until you see several Hunters. Get into cover and use your Hunting Rifle to take them down, then go around to the opposite side of the cabin to trigger a scene.

Here you’ll take control of Ellie again, so you’ll need to find a way out of the town and hopefully reunite with Joel. To begin, head around the corner and enter the building, then move the table out of the way to gain access to the store. Hop through the window and enter the building on the left, then enter the bathroom and climb outside via the window. Hold 
Wait for the Hunters up ahead to walk away and crawl through the fence up ahead, then walk to the end of the straight until you come across an alley. Head to the end of it and enter the building via the hole in the wall, then wait for the enemies to walk over to the right side of the room before jumping through the window on the left. Slowly make your way across the street, then hug the wall on the left until you reach another alley.
How To Defeat David¶
Climb up onto the container and enter the building, then checkout the cabinet and kitchen for Health Kits, then attempt to make your way through the exit to cross paths with David once again. Unfortunately, this time he isn’t too friendly, so you’ll need to take him down before you can leave the restaurant. In order to do this you’ll need to sneak up on him and strike him with your knife three times in a row.

The first is relatively simple to reach him, but then the second time around he’ll pull out a blade, so sprint away and hide, then grab a brick and sneak up on him. Throw the brick at him to cause him to be stunned, then you’ll have a few seconds to strike him for a second time. During the final phase of this battle David will also crouch which makes it even harder to detect him, so pick up another brick and sneak around until you find him, then finish him off.
Where To Find The Smoke: Shaping Training Manual¶
Once you’ve defeated David a scene will play out and you’ll be back in control with Joel. Search the building on the right to find some Binding and Explosives, then take out three nearby enemies with your Bow. Head down the alley across the street to find a locked door which you’ll need to use a shiv to open. Grab Supplements x10, Smoke: Shaping Training Manual and Parts x50 from inside.

Return to the street and walk through the container, then take out three more enemies with the Shotgun before walking down the alley and entering the building. Here you’ll find Ellie’s Backpack and the Mear Ledger. Finally, make your way through the building until you’re reunited with Ellie and then the Lakeside Resort portion of the game is completed.
