How To Take Down The Deer
Joel is now out of action after the events of The University, so you’ll now be controlling Ellie. Here you’ll want to hunt down the nearby Deer, but before you do so you’ll want to open you backpack and look at the following collectibles: No Pun Intended, No Pun Intended: Volume Too, To Get To The Other Side, Riley’s Pendant, Sams Robot, Walkman, Note From Mom, Joel and Sarah Photo and finally the Switchblade.
Next up crouch and sneak up towards the Deer and use the bow to shoot it, then it’ll begin to bleed. Follow the trail of blood and eventually you’ll reach an abandoned hut, then search the drawers in the back left corner for the Uncertainty Comic. Exit the house and a cutscene will play out, then you’ll need to survive a horde of infected whilst waiting for medicine.
How To Survive The Horde
You’ll notice that you don’t have much ammo, so you’ll need to make sure you aim for headshots to ensure the enemies go down in one shot. If any infected manage to get it, then make sure to grab any ammo they drop. Eventually, you’ll have to follow your temporary partner up the stairs, then take out any enemies coming up the stairs whilst he blocks the path.
From here, continue to follow David through the building until you fall down into a Clicker infested area. Once you regain control, wait for the nearby Clicker to walk away before using a knife to take it out, then drop and head through the tunnel. Head up the ladder at the end of the path to reunite with David, then request him to boost you up.
Follow the catwalk around and wait for the Clicker to look away before using the Knife to take him down, then checkout the storage room for a Firefly Pendant - Travis Kristoof and Alcohol x1. Continue to follow the catwalk around and drop the ladder down to David, then follow him into a room. You’ll now to need to fight of several waves of Clickers and Runners, so scavanage the area for Explosives, Blades, Handgun Ammo, Nail Bombs and Molotovs.
Make sure you’ve got full health and have crafted several Health Kits, then block off the paths with Molotovs and use the Hunting Rifle/Shotgun to finish them off. Be sure to loot the corpses for ammo, then eventually the friendly neighborhood Bloater will drop down. Keep your distance and use the Flamethrower to weaken it, then equip the Shotgun to finish it off.
How To Escape The Abandoned Building
After you’ve defeated all of the infected and have been reunited with the horse, follow the path down the hill and dodge the hunters by swerving left to right then when you fall down quickly sprint into the nearby cabin. Search the cabin for some Alcohol and Blades, then stay in cover and take out the nearby Hunters with the Hunting Rifle or Bow before exploring the cabin on the right for the Firefly Pendant - Paul D. Braun.
From here, checkout the next cabin along for some Blades x2, Explosive x2, and a Rag. Continue making your way through the village and defeat any more Hunters attempting to get in your way, then head up the stairs and follow the path around until you reach a tunnel. Head through the first half and quickly grab the Negentropy Comic from the bench, then go through the second half of the tunnel.
Get into the cover and use the Bow to take out the Hunters coming around the corner, then head around the corner yourself and move the containers to crawl into the building. Grab some Alcohol and a Rag from this room, then approach the door to find two more Hunters. Take them out, then exit the building to bring this portion of the Lakeside Resort to a close.
