This is a guide for the third area in The Outskirts in The Last of Us: Part 1. It’ll navigate you through the necessary steps to getting through the museum.

Where To Find The Medical Pamphlet¶
Once you’ve managed to get back outside you’ll need to climb over a truck in order to progress through the area, so sneak into the building on the left and carefully take out the three Runners, then take the cabinet from the center of the room and place it against the truck.
Climb over the truck and drop down, then enter the truck to collect a Wooden Stick and a Medical Pamphlet. Open the garage door up ahead to trigger a cutscene, then look inside of the truck to find some Supplements x5. Before leaving the area, interact with the Workbench next to the door.
How To Upgrade Weapons¶
You can use Workbenches to upgrade your weapons by using parts you’ve gathered as you explore the world. There are certain items you cannot craft or upgrade until you progress further into the game. So for now you can only upgrade your 9MM Pistol and Revolver.
If you’ve collected all the Parts we’ve mentioned up to this point of the game, then you should be able to get the first set of upgrades for the 9MM Pistol and Revolver. Once you’ve finished upgrading proceed into the next room.
Where To Find The Firefly Pendant Michael Kiper- 109¶
Here you can collect some Revolver Ammo x1 from the desk, then go through the door on the other side to find some Blades x1 on another desk. From here, head through the second door and look over to the right side of the room to find some Blades x1 and Alcohol x1. Walk up the collapsed floor and hug the back of the wall and climb up onto the narrow path against the window and walk to the end to collect the Firefly Pendant - Michael Kiper - 109.

Drop back down and climb up to the second floor and work your way through the rooms and pickup a Blade x1 from inside a cabinet. Crawl through the blocked doorway and interact with the beam by pressing 
How To Get Through The Museum¶
Unfortunately, your path is blocked, so head through the tunnel which currently has multiple Clickers roaming about. Thankfully, there are multiple bricks scattered all over the place, so grab one and take out the first Clicker, then circle around and take out the second Clicker.
Pick up the Wooden Stick and sneak into the corridor and melee the third and final Clicker to death. Now that this room has been cleared of Clickers, enter the room on the left to find a Health Can the cabinet and a Blade on the counter. In this same room you’ll notice there is a locked, so you’ll want to use a Shiv to collect some Handgun Ammo x4, Alcohol, Revolver Ammo x3, a Rage , Supplements x10 and Parts x25 .

After you’ve collected all the items, walk to the end of the corridor to a staircase and go through the door on the next floor. Sprint over to the Runner that is bashing the door, then melee it to death before going through the door.
How To Defeat The Crowd of Runners¶
Once you regain control of Joel you’ll need to take out a large group of Runner, so you’ll want to take out the one attacking Ellie, then create some distance and carefully aim for a headshot to avoid missing shots and wasting ammo. Alternatively, you can use a melee weapon such as Wooden Stick and melee them all down.

After defeating all the Runners, speak with Ellie and Tess to engage in optional conversations, then go through the window and make your way to the roof. Pick up one of the wooden planks and place it on the railing to trigger a scene which will lead you to the last part of The Outskirts. .
