Metaphor: ReFantazio

All Missables in Metaphor: ReFantazio

By
Jarrod Garripoli

It is definitely clear that Metaphor: ReFantazio is a huge game that can take upwards of 80+ hours to complete. Thus, some people are going to want to know if there is anything that can be missed in the game, especially since doing another playthrough might be out of the question. This page will attempt to collect all of the missables in the game.

There are a few things in Metaphor that are missable, like some of the Gold Beetles, as an example.

Gold Beetles

One of the things you can collect in the game is something called Gold Beetles. Most of these will appear as little gold orbs, as you explore the various towns and dungeons. There are a few of them that aren’t visible, meaning you’ll want to interact with various objects to see if they yield a "Gold Beetle" iconGold Beetle. You can find a total of 50 Gold Beetles in the game, but only three are truly missable. While you can turn these in for some nice items, you aren’t technically locking yourself out of anything by missing those three beetles.

Side Quests

Another thing that could potentially be missed is some of the side quests. As you progress the main game and start unlocking these side quests, you will notice that a few of them have deadlines. If you don’t complete the quests by their deadlines, then you won’t be able to finish them and will miss out on their rewards. That’s why it’s a good thing to do all of the optional content prior to working on the main quest, whenever you get to a new town/area.

Missable Book

An activity you can do while on your gauntlet runner is reading books, which will increase one of your Royal Virtues. The majority of the books that unlock will do so as you get new party members, but there is a single book that can be obtained outside of this. That book can only be acquired while you’re in the Brilehaven part of the story. For more info on this, check out the Bookworm Trophy/Achievement Guide page. Note that if you don’t care about trophies or achievements, then this is doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things.

Candidate Debates

Another thing that is missable that only relates to trophies and achievements are debates with your fellow candidates. Throughout the game, you can find a podium in the various towns, where you can speak to the people to increase your Eloquence Royal Virtue. After reaching the second major town, you can sometimes find your fellow candidates on those podiums. Interacting with the podium then will allow you to participate in a debate with them (only need to select one dialog choice). These are missable because once you finish up with that chapter of the story, the candidates will no longer be there.

There are bounds to be other things in the game that are missable, especially since a a few of the dungeons are only available for you to go through once. It is possible to not complete all of the Followers or quests in one playthrough, but that’s not something that is locked out by simply progressing normally throughout the game.
