Metaphor: ReFantazio

Hatching a Plan

By
Jarrod Garripoli

You will run into many people who have problems in Metaphor: ReFantazio, some of which will give you side quests to do. One such person is found in the town of Martira, but you won’t be able to get the side quest from him until you do a little bit of story there. Hatching a Plan is a very simple side quest that simply asks you to go to another area and purchase a Practical Pigeon Parcel for the town.

Hatching a Plan Location

You won’t be able to get this side quest as soon as you step foot in Martira, as there is a little bit of story that prevents you from doing so. It isn’t until you reach 6/29 on the calendar that you will have your first set of free time in the town, which will allow you to start the side quest. The Gloomy Youth is found in the Thoroughfare Square portion, just north of the fountain. He talks about how the town thrives on using carrier pigeons to trade medicine and foodstuffs, but the officials from the capital requisitioned them for the Tournament of Power.

So, he wishes for you to help out by procuring a Practical Pigeon Parcel from a nearby village, called Komero. Note that he needs the item by July 11, so you have a deadline here, but this quest is quite easy and doesn’t involve too much. However, you will want to read below on some tips, since there are other quests in the vicinity, so that can help cut down on your free time spent.

Practical Pigeon Parcel Location

The NPC will pinpoint the location of Komero on the map, which is found east of Martira. The quest is rather simple, as you just go to your map on the gauntlet runner, then choose Komero as your destination. It will cost you a day to get there, but there are some other things to do in the area that should be bundled up at the same time. While you were traveling to Martira, you got a quest from Neuras on the runner, called Providing a Spark. This one also asks you to go to Komero, but you need to start this quest to find out its location.

Saving this quest until you reach July 5 (7/5) is a better idea, as there will be a new bounty at the recruiter. That bounty will be found at the Man-Eater’s Grotto, found to the southeast of Komero. So, once you’re done with the stuff in Komero, head on over to the grotto to hunt down the Alpha Rockworm Valmo. As for the Practical Pigeon Parcel, you gain access to a shop at Komero, despite not being able to physically explore the place. With the shop open, scroll over to the Key Items category and the item you need is right there.

It costs 500 Reeves, so it’s a minor chunk out of your wallet. Once you’re done with everything and are back in Martira, return the item to the man and you will be done with this quest.

Hatching a Plan Rewards

For this minor inconvenience, you will be rewarded with 7,500 Reeves, which is some nice pocket change for a relatively simple task. The other thing you receive is some Invincible Noodles, an item you can use to make your character temporarily invincible on the field when encountering enemies.
