As you explore the world of Blades of Fire, you may encounter a corpse of a Paladin, who belonged to the knightly brotherhood, The Paladins of the Aurora. You’ll soon find out that you’ll need to find a sigil (symbol) to free them from their rotting corpses. Doing this will reward you with a Neara Tear (Blue Gem), which is required to obtain the Fragmented Tablets collectibles. There are five in total, so read on to find out where you can find the Paladins as well as their sigil.

Paladin 1 - The Duel of Forgetting¶
The first Paladin you will find is Val-Reec, and you’ll find him in The Hollow Plain. From the only Forge in the Hollow Plain, head northwest up the slope and follow the path north. In the clearing, you’ll find a tree to the north, where you’ll find the corpse leaning up against it. Interact with the Paladin to find that you need to find their name, which is basically an orange Sigil.
Val-Reec’s corpse is by the trees in the Hollow Plain. Go behind the anvil, go left, and left again.
Val-Reec’s Sigil Location¶
Val-Reec’s Sigil can be found on the tree opposite the Forge, to the left of the large gate. Interact with the Sigil and then head back to the corpse to release it.
South of the Hollow Plain anvil, you’ll find a tree with Val-Reec’s Sigil.
Paladin 2 - Dharas, Paladin of the Aurora¶
The second Paladin you will find is in The Crimson Fort, or more like, on top of it. Fast Travel to the Library Tower Forge and make your way up the stairs into the library. Go clockwise around the room and go into the area on your left. As you enter the area, you’ll find a ladder you can go up to your right. Go up the ladder to the next floor and go clockwise again, but this time, go into the third area on your left. Once again, you’ll find another ladder, hidden behind the books.
Go up the ladder and follow the path to find another. Once again, go up, head around the room, and take the stairs up to the next floor. As you reach the next floor, you’ll be attacked by some Shadow Blades. These can only be killed by a weapon that has the Time Rune. If you don’t have it, you can ignore them and take the stairs up to the next floor.
When you reach the next floor, you’ll find a ladder to your immediate right. Climb the ladder to find a Neara Statue, and behind it, a rope leading to the roof. Take the rope up and then go up the ladder to reach the rooftop. Here, you’ll find poor Val-Reec slumped against the railing.
Dharas is atop the southwestern tower, accessed from the Library Tower Forge in The Crimson Fort.
Dharas’ Sigil Location¶
This Sigil can be a tricky one to find, depending on how far you’ve progressed in the game. If you’re still in the Crimson Fort area, then you’ll find it on top of the roof above the Throne Room; however, if you’ve progressed into Doyen Graves, you’ll find it in the boss room in Kar-Lethel Swamp. We’ll start with how you can get the Sigil from The Crimson Tower first, so fast travel to the Ancient Garden Balcony Forge, and follow the path southeast until you reach the door on your left.
Go through the door and exit the room to the northeast. Head northwest, and as you go down the stairs, you’ll find a rope hanging down to your right. Go up the rope to the rooftop and follow the southeast until you reach a dead end. Climb over the curved rooftop to the southwest to find a statue head next to the hole in the roof. The hole will lead to the Throne Room Forge, while the Sigil will be on the right side of the statue’s head.
If you missed the Sigil while you were at The Crimson Fort, it will have been moved (or stolen), and you’ll need to progress the story until you reach the Kar-Lethel Swamp, Coastal Wall Forge. You’ll come here to find a boss for the story, so progress with the story until you encounter the boss. Eventually, you’ll end up in the boss’s lair, and you’ll find the statue amongst the other loot that the boss has stolen.
The Sigil for Dharas is on the statue head above the Throne Room Anvil. This will move if you go to Doyens Grave before getting this.
Paladin 3 - Esophageal Gambit¶
You won’t be able to get this Paladin until you reach the second region, Tok’s Kingdom. Progress through the story until you’ve found Dhrias’ Hammer and opened the Forge. Inside the Forge, go up the right set of stairs and follow them to the top to find the Paladin.
Vidit is in Dhyrias’ Forge. Go up the right set of stairs to find him.
Vidit’s Sigil Location¶
You’ll need to progress the story again to reach this place. At some point during the story, you’ll need to return to The Egion’s Abbey. Progress through the Abbey until you reach the Library Anvil and then head east into a circular chamber. The Sigil will be inside, on the wall.
Vidit’s Sigil is in The Egion’s Abbey, east of the Library Anvil.
Paladin 4 - Killed by the Beer of Donkeys¶
Once again, you’ll need to progress the story until you reach the Dryad’s Forest. As you exit the forest, you’ll find a side path to the east of the bridge. You’ll find the body at the end of the path.
You’ll find Thabull down the side path, east of the bridge in Dryad’s Forest.
Thabull’s Sigil Location¶
On the side of a wooden building on the water’s edge, east side of Winter’s Wall. By the upside-down (and back-to-front) L-shaped jetty.
Thabull’s Sigil is in Winter’s Wall, near the jetty.
Paladin - The King’s Bodyguard¶
The last Paladin, Havell Mervis can be found in the Royal Palace. From the Throne Room Anvil, take the stairs all the way to the top to reach the dining hall. Exit through the north door, and you’ll find the Paladin’s body on the balcony outside.
You’ll need to reach the Royal Palace Throne Room to find this Paladin.
Havell Mervis’ Sigil Location¶
Havell Mervis’ Sigil can be found on the back of the Throne in the Throne Room of the Royal Palace.
The Sigil is hidden in plain sight. Check the back of the throne for a nice surprise!
That’s it for the Paladin’s bodies and Sigils. Finding all of them will give you a total of ten Neara’s Tears, which is enough for five of the thirteen Fragment Tablets. The rest you’ll find by defeating specific sacred templars.
