It won’t be long into your adventure in Blades of Fire until you encounter your first Forger’s Totem, a seemingly useless slab of rock sitting outside the entrance to "The Hollow Plain" iconThe Hollow Plain. While it isn’t immediately evident, you’ll come to appreciate the sight of these late in the adventure as you look to find all of the game’s hidden secrets. Keep reading to learn what the purpose of these Forger’s Totems are and where to find them.

Forger’s Totems won’t become active until the final stages of Blades of Fire.

What are Forger’s Totems?

This is arguably the biggest question on everyone’s mind once they first encounter it near the entrance to The Hollow Point, close to the Troll’s River anvil in Besacaar Hamlet. When examined, you’ll learn that it seems to be something that belonged to the Forger’s but it has since been turned to stone due to the Queen’s magic. From that point onward, you’ll encounter many of these and you may be wondering what they are and when you can actually do something with them.

Unfortunately, you’re going to have to wait until the final stages of the adventure for them to become active. We’ll try to avoid spoiling you here, as it’s a major part of the story, but you’ll know when they become available as you can’t miss it once you reach the game’s climatic moments.

Once they’re available, return to any Forger’s Totem and interact with it and you’ll notice that your map may (if you’ve not already had everything) now have some new markers on it in the form of a “?” in both silver and gold, officially known as Silver and Golden Secrets. They indicate the following:

  • Silver Secrets: These usually indicate lesser collectibles, such as the various chests you can find scattered all over the world. There are plenty of them to find, and so you can use these to find any missing ones you may still need.

  • Golden Secrets: These appear to point to anything that may reward you with a "Blue Gems (Nerea's Tears)" iconBlue Gems (Nerea’s Tears). These are important and need to be collected to reach the game’s true ending, so being able to pinpoint them with Forger’s Totems are an incredible boon to have.

(1 of 2) Silver Secrets point to points of interest such as chests.
