As you explore the dangerous locales of Blades of Fire, you’ll eventually run into the Three Kings, deadly optional encounters (at least when you first meet them) that can kill you easily if you’re not careful. The rewards are well worth it, as you’ll eventually unlock new weapons from each one. "King Narameth" iconKing Narameth is the last of the Three Kings you’ll meet for the first time, so keep reading to learn how to deal with him and what other locations he spawns.

King Narameth is the third King you’ll encounter in Blades of Fire.

King Narameth Locations

King Narameth is the third King you’ll run into in Blades of Fire, and unlike both King Beltharun and King Ashkhanar, you won’t encounter Narameth for the first time until you reach Tok’s Kingdom in Chapter 2, more specifically "The Roggs Mountains" iconThe Roggs Mountains (there is a spawn in Aecides’ Domain, but you won’t reach it until the end of the adventure). As you naturally navigate the area, you’ll find the Celestial Cave anvil, and, as you go into the large cave beyond, King Narameth will spawn alongside plenty of "Rotspawn" iconRotspawn, who you should take care of first. Below, you can discover all three locations you can find King Narameth in Blades of Fire:

  • Aecides’ Domain - "Crop Fields" iconCrop Fields: You won’t be able to reach this part of Aecides’ Domain until you retrieve the Soul Rune late into the adventure. Once you can access the area, you’ll find King Narameth in the center (Map Marker).

  • Tok’s Kingdom - The Roggs Mountains: As mentioned above, this is the first encounter you’ll have with King Narameth, and he can be found at the entrance of the Celestial Cave (Map Marker).

  • The Niveous Realm - The Queen’s Palace: On the roof of the northwest tower. You must unlock the gate on the top floor of the northeast tower with a "Blood Key" iconBlood Key to access it (Map Marker).

Once you have defeated all three, you’ll unlock the Double Krisses Daggers.

King Narameth Boss Strategy

By now, you should have a rough idea of what to expect when it comes to the King battles, if you’ve been fighting them in order, this will be the third such battle by now. The one huge difference with Narameth over Beltharun and Ashkhanar is that unlike them, Narameth is very agile, as you might expect from a King that wields Daggers. You do not want to fight him until you’ve dealt with the Rotspawn (when fighting him for the first time) and if you have a weapon with decent Block or Parry, that can help a lot here.

King Narameth has plenty of attacks for you to be cautious of though, and you can learn about them below:

Lightning Balls

When at range, King Narameth will often let out many balls of Lightning that will slowly move out from him. While you have time to avoid them, you’ll more often than not have to be aware of them as he will use other attacks over them.

(1 of 2) The Lightning Balls will move slowly out, and then detonate like a mine.

The Lightning Balls will move slowly out, and then detonate like a mine. (left), The Lightning Pulse will snake towards you. (right)

Lightning Pulse

Usually while Lightning Balls are still being released, King Narameth will let out a snaking pulse of Lightning through the ground, these will head toward you so keep your distance and roll to the side to avoid them, keeping in mind where the Lightning Balls are.

Lightning Explosion

King Narameth will charge for a while and then let out a massive electrical explosion that is centered around where he is standing. This is easy to spot, but it can be difficult to avoid with all of the other attacks going on. If you keep an eye on the purple gauge that fills below his health, expect him to charge the explosion as soon as it is full.

Lightning Whip

King Narameth will swing a large Lightning Whip around him, two-to-three times, this is easier to deal with by dodge rolling through the attack, rather than keeping your distance, as it has a large range on it.

Dagger Combo

Perhaps King Narameth’s least dangerous attack in his arsenal, he will slash away at you three-to-four times before finishing with a somersault. The Somersault has a slight delay to it, so don’t forget about it after dealing with the initial assault. Don’t take this for granted though, as King Narameth can chain together his Dagger combo multiple times.

(1 of 3) When the purple gauge below King Narameth’s health is full, he’ll let out a Lightning Explosion.

It’s safe to say that King Narameth is by far the most challenging of the three Kings, even if you have the largest arena to fight him in (for the first encounter). There’s no real sound play here, if you keep your distance, he’ll use a lot more of his Lightning-based attacks which can make it rather chaotic as a lot of the attacks have persisting effects after. Stay in close-range though and you’ll be dealing with non-stop Dagger combos.

For this reason, we suggest bringing in a Spear that has decent Block and/or Parry and trying to keep in close-range. Despite being incredibly quick, the Dagger combo is better to the alternative and if you can nail a Parry in the process, it will leave him open for an assault of your own. Be aware of your surroundings at all times, and only go in for the attack when you have enough stamina/block to deal with his follow-ups.
