Samo's Keys Good Deed Walkthrough
Good Deeds in Hell is Us are side quests involving the citizens of Hadea. These are normally started by either speaking to an NPC or finding an item while exploring. When either of these conditions is met, the Good Deed will get added to the Exploration tab in the menu.
Upon completing a Good Deed, you will need to speak to Gildas Brom in Vyssa Hills to get your reward, which is anything from Glyphs, Prisms, or Gear. The A Light in the Dark Good Deed is technically four deeds in one, and you can fail some if you don’t have over a Signal Flare to a survivor before Caspian evacuates. Read on to find out how to complete each deed successfully without leaving anyone behind.
A Light in the Dark is a Good Deed in the Tulja region. Rescue the four survivors before you evacuate!

Starting A Light in the Dark - Finding the Signal Flares¶
A Light in the Dark begins once you pick up the four Signal Flares in Talju. These can be found on a corpse next to the generator outside the Town Hall. The Town Hall is located to the west of where you’ll begin. From the APC, head west under the bridge, and take the left path west past the Pharmacy until the end of the road. To your right is the Town Hall, but next to the generator in front of it is a corpse. Inspect the corpse to retrieve the four Signal Flares.
From the APC, follow the western road to the end to find the Town Hall.

A Light in the Dark 1 - Boro Location¶
This survivor can be found where you start the area. Head back to the APC, and go around the scrapyard to the north. When you get to the other side, open the door to the garage to the east. Go inside and head into the garage to your right to find Boro. Hand over the Signal Flare to him to make sure he leaves with the evacuation team.
A Light in the Dark 2 - Survivor 2¶
After you pick up the flares, you’ll need to give each one to a survivor. The more that make it out, the better your reward. The first survivor is located on the upper level of the house opposite the Pharmacy. However, you’ll need to go around to get there. From the Pharmacy, follow the road west to the Town Hall, and then go south past the burning house until you reach the pickup truck. Now, go through the alley to your east, and make your way around the side of the house.
Under the balcony is a makeshift path taking you to the other side of the house. Go over it and climb the ladder to the south to get on the roof. Finally, look to your left to find a hole in the wall and Agatha. Hand over the Signal Flare to make sure they are saved when Caspian leaves.
A Light in the Dark 3 - Ylio Botham Location¶
Ylio is the third survivor, and you can find him on the upper level of the barn behind the school. To get to him, head west into town from the APC, and then follow the road north. Stay on the road by heading north and west, and you’ll find the school. Continue to the end of the road to reach the bus shelter, and you’ll find a gate to get behind the school. At the back of the school is a doorway to the west (next to the football goal) that leads to the barn and Timeloop.
Go down the stairs, and you’ll find the barn to the southwest. Go through the front of the barn and climb up the nearby ladder to find Ylio. Hand over the Signal Flare so he gets picked up when Caspian evacuates the town.

A Light in the Dark 4 - Charlotte Topam Location¶
The final survivor is Charlotte Topam, who can be found locked in the office of the Vanderlyn Trust building. Vanderlyn Trust is on the other side of town, to the west, so from the APC. Follow the road west past the Pharmacy until you reach the Town Hall. Opposite the Town Hall is a small path next to the fence, continuing west. Follow the narrow path west and drop off the roof at the end.

At the end, drop off the roof, head left, and follow the path around the burning house through the broken wall.
Go west, and you’ll see a broken wall to the north. Walk across past the broken wall to find some stairs on your right leading up to the second floor of the building. Finally, go up the stairs and defeat all the enemies inside the building, and in the center is a door with Charlotte inside. Hand over the Signal Flare to make sure she escapes with the evacuation.

Finishing A Light in the Dark¶
Now that you have handed out all the Signal Flares to all the survivors, you need to progress the main story of Tulja. This is how you can do it.
- Go into the Town Hall and speak to Caspian Fran, who is looking for his son.
- Go to the back of the school to find Lukhan.
- Go back to Caspian and tell him you found Lukhan, and he’ll hand you a walkie-talkie.
- Go back to Lukhan and hand over the walkie-talkie, and Caspian will handle the rest.
- Go back to Caspian, and he’ll ask you to clear the back of the Town Hall parking lot of monsters.
- Use the key he gives you to open the Parking Lot (in the booth). The Parking Lot can be accessed by heading north and west from the Pharmacy.
- Defeat all the monsters in the Parking Lot.
- Talk to Caspian again for them to evacuate.
Make sure you hand out all the Signal Flares before doing all this, as it’ll fail all the other A Light in the Dark deeds if you don’t.
A Light in the Dark Rewards¶
To get rewards from Good Deeds, Mysteries, and Timeloops in Hell is Us, you’ll need to speak to Gildas Brom in the Watcher’s Nest in Vyssa Hills. Speak to him and select the options regarding Good Deeds and Timeloops to receive the rewards. For this particular Good Deed, Gildas Brom will reward you depending on how many survivors you have.

That’s it for the A Light in the Dark Good Deed. If you save all four survivors, you will obtain all the rewards above; if you only save two, you’ll receive the first two rewards, and if you only save one of them, you’ll only get the first reward. This is a relatively difficult Good Deed to get full rewards in, because odds are, you will evacuate without finding all the survivors, significantly lowering the rewards.
