Heart of Gold Good Deed Walkthrough

Good Deeds in Hell is Us are side quests involving the citizens of Hadea. These are normally started by either speaking to an NPC or finding an item while exploring. When either of these conditions is met, the Good Deed will get added to the Exploration tab in the menu.

Upon completing a Good Deed, you will need to speak to Gildas Brom in Vyssa Hills to get your reward, which is anything from Glyphs, Prisms, or Gear. The Heart of Gold Good Deed begins and ends in Vyssa Hills, which you unlock as part of the story.

Starting Heart of Gold - Finding Atticus Caddell¶

Heart of Gold is started by speaking to Atticus Caddell in Vyssa Hills. To access Vyssa Hills, you’ll need to progress the main story in Acasa Marshes first. When you go to Vyssa Hills for the first time, the APC will park in the south. To find Atticus, head northwest while heading up the slopes to the west. As you get past the waterfall, start heading west more, and you’ll find a wooden archway.

Go through it and follow the path west and south. As you head south, you’ll pass underneath some scaffolding, and on your left, a ladder taking you to the top of it. Go up the ladder and drop off to the western ledge.

Continue along the path, drop off the path, and continue west. This path loops around, and when you get to the next intersection, take the northeastern path under the broken bridge to find Atticus Caddell. Exhaust his dialogue, and he’ll tell you about the group of people he’s been staying with, as well as ask you to find the keys to the ON truck so he can escape. This will start the Heart of Gold Good Deed.

Keys - ON Vehicle Location¶

The keys that you’re looking for are Keys - ON Vehicle. To obtain these, you’ll need to close the Timeloop near the wooden archway you went through to get to Atticus Caddell; however, you won’t be able to close it until you progress with the story a little and solve the Watcher’s Nest puzzle, giving you access to Gildas Brom.

The reason for this is that you need Amine Prisms to close Timeloops, and Gildas will give you your first one. Follow our Watcher’s Nest Puzzle Guide to find out how to do this.

Once you’ve got access to Gildas, he’ll give you the useful Guardian Detector usable item, which can help you locate the Timeloop Guardians. There are approximately ten or so guardians scattered across the map, and you’ll need to defeat them to weaken the Timeloop. When all of them are defeated, you’ll be able to enter the Timeloop. Inside the Timeloop, go over to your drone and interact with it. At the top of your screen, you’ll find out what type of Timeloop you’re facing and what Amine Prism you need to use for it. For this Timeloop, it doesn’t matter, as the one Gildas gives you will be the correct one. After you’ve closed the Timeloop, you’ll find a corpse on the floor where it once was. This contains the Keys - ON Vehicle, the key item you need to finish the deed.

How to Complete Heart of Gold¶

All that is to do now is to return to Atticus and trade the Keys to him. Note that you should head to the camp near Atticus first and help out the refugees first. If you do this, Atticus will take them with him; if not, they will either die or be stuck in Vyssa Hills forever. Make sure you complete any refugee-related tasks before you give him the keys.

Heart of Gold Rewards¶

To get rewards from Good Deeds, Mysteries, and Timeloops in Hell is Us, you’ll need to speak to Gildas Brom in the Watcher’s Nest in Vyssa Hills. Speak to him and select the options regarding Good Deeds and Timeloops to receive the rewards. For this particular Good Deed and Timeloop, Gildas Brom will reward you with the following items.
