Lake Cynon Blue Flower Reservoir Puzzle
Temple of the Fallen Door and Pressure Puzzles Walkthrough
The Lymbic Forge is one of the areas that players need to progress through in Hell is Us. This underground dungeon becomes accessible after you complete the Blue Flower puzzle above in Lake Cynon. Once the reservoir reveals the underground dungeon, players can find plenty of puzzles and other strange pathways to move around. Here’s everything you need to know to navigate the Lymbic Forge in Hell is Us.
Lymbic Forge Walkthrough¶
As you enter the forge, you will come across a stairway and bridge leading to the main hall. There will be a lever to open alongside a save point next to it, with a Hollow Walker defending on the other side. Defeat it, save your game, and follow the other bridges to enter the main room.
Opening the Sigil Door¶
Now you’re in the main forge room, you’ll find a Barracks area on the left side, a door that requires two sigils to open dead ahead, and a pathway leading to a library and living quarters area on the right. The task is to open that sigil door, similarly to the Watcher’s Nest Sigil door. Feel free to explore the area if you’d like to get items.
When you’re ready, you need to make your way to the right and enter the living area. You’ll know you’re nearby when you come across a small room with a fireplace and chimney. To solve this puzzle, you need to:
- Activate the north wall torches
- Activate the south wall torch
- You should find the fireplace lifts up, revealing the Order of the Eye sigil exploration item.

Now, you need to head left of the main hall room. Here, you need to follow the corridor into the large room with the staircase and defeat the enemies. There’s another corridor leading on from there. Open the doors at the end of it, and then jump into the pit with the two Hollow Walkers. The pit contains the Order of the Phol Guard.
Now you have both Sigils, you can return to the door and open it, revealing the sluice area.
Sluice Progression¶
When you open the door to the Sluice, most of the area will be filled with water. The general idea is to activate the various levers at the main water control system at the back of the room, currently guarded by a few Hollow Walkers. Clear the area out, and then interact with the machine.
To activate the machine for the first drainage, you need to find a few items Here’s what you need to do to get the first one:

- When facing the machine, turn left, and deal with the Hollow Walkers along that path. Loot the skeleton along the path to get the Key - Owl.
- You can use the Owl Key to open the owl door, located near the fireplace puzzle you activated earlier for the Sigil. Enter that room, and proceed through.
- There’s a room above which leads to a Walker and some Capacitor loot and an Old Sketchbook - Research Item which is handy. There’s also a Lymbic Chest - Library Mystery in here, which you’ll activate later with a Rod coming up.
- Moving on, take the left tunnel pathway, and it takes you to a locked door you can open. The door on the left is a shortcut back from the library to the main hallways. The other door straight ahead leads back to the Sluice room. Open both of them then go through into the Sluice.
- In the Sluice room, turn right. Kill the Hollow Walker, then up against the right wall is a chest. Loot it to get the Gear - Spoked. Take it back to the Sluice mechanism and place it into the slot near the left lever. Activate the lever. You’ll get a cutscene lowering the water one step.
When you’re done exploring, you need to take the following paths:
- Drop down to where the Hollow Walkers walk along a pathway. Defeat it. You should see a sign that says Chapel with an entrance next to it. Enter it. You’ll hear a noise which locks a gate behind you. Continue along the pathway as normal.
- Follow the corridor along - you’ll come across a group of Hollow Walkers to clear with some tight space AOE abilities or glyphs. Use them to dispatch them.
- There’s a pathway that leads to a dead end by a gate that contains the Lymbic Rod - Terror, X. Make sure you don’t miss that.
- You’ll come across a door with a Crying Eye symbol. This will allow you to enter a room with the Key - Crying Eye key you got from the Dorms on the left side of the main sigil door area.
- If you haven’t got it, go find the dorms on the staircase above where you found the Sigil - Order.
- Opening it leads to the Second Library - Follow the path around, and it should bring you to a Chapel-like location.
- There’s a time loop guardian inside this room, along with some defensive gear and other pickups that’s worth picking up.
- Inside the chapel, there’s a staircase that you can climb up on the other side. It takes you to a spot where you can run and fall onto the sermon balcony.
- When on the balcony, head inside. You can find the Gear - Large used on the Sluice.
- You can also find in that part of the library the Lymbic Rod - Rage, W used on that Lymbic Chest inside the Owl door library area. Some other doors lead to Timeloop guardians, the Lymbic Rod - Neutral, V. The V opens the Lymbic Chest in the Dorms area, near where you get the Crying Eye key from.
- There’s also a pathway underneath the balcony that gives you items and a pathway back to the Sluice. Place the Gear - Large in the remaining lever to empty the area of water.

Now, all you need to do to progress is enter the room at the back, descend the elevator, and fight a boss at the bottom. You can now defeat that boss, and get an item pickup called the Hammer of Modus at the sarcophagus. Take this hammer back to the sluice mechanism to open the door. There’s also an Amine Prism - Sigma in there and an investigation crafting Tome to give to Victor.
The Lymbic Forge Room¶
Grab teh Sword of Gried next to the anvil, and then head to the back of the room to reveal what is to come in Act 2. Image via Gamer Guides / Nacon
insert the Keystone of Grief inside. Now you need to gather the other missing keystones to unlock the final room of the Lymbic Forge. Image via Gamer Guides / Nacon
With the door behind the sluice open, you will find a small Lymbic Forge in the middle. You can pick up the Sword of Grief from it if you’d like, a rank 3 level 10 Grief short sword, which is handy to try out new builds and glyphs with.
Further at the back, there are a few enemies. Defeating them will allow you to safely interact with the Keystones. There’s a Keystone for each major emotion. Use the Keystone of Grief you got from Vitalis in Vyssa Hills and you’ll solve one of the puzzles.
From here, you move into Act 2, and can go on a quest to find the missing Keystones from around the world. You’ll get more leads to track these down.
In terms of the missing parts, the gate above the Dorms is locked for a while, and contains the last Timeloop Guardian. There are also the other Lymbic Keys that you’ll get for playing the other investigations in Act 2. Simply choose which one to go after and you’ll gradually work your way through the keys one at a time. There’s a also a Grief Lymbic Chest in here to, hidden in a side room. You wont have they for that just yet as you need to play through more of the game to unlock it. The same goes for the one at the bottom of the reservoir as you escape the Lymbic Forge.
