The Captain’s Office is one of the mysteries that players can partake in inside of Jova. The mystery requires players to break into Captain’ Vaas headquarters, near to where he stands. However, getting in is quite a long winded challenge. Here’s how to get complete the Captain’s Office in Hell is Us.

How to get Captain Vaas’ Keys¶
To complete the Captain Office mystery in Hell is Us, you need to do some things in both Act 1 and 2.

Head to the house in the center of Jova and get the Mead from the fridge. Image via Gamer Guides / Nacon.
In act 1, you can make small progress by doing the following:
- Head inside the house where the writing “Death to Sabs is”, with the guards by the house.
- Head inside by climbing pinto the balcony, and head inside (it’s the same house for the Never Worn Good Deed)
- You will find a nearly empty bottle of mead.
- Take this to a drunk guard near the inn on the northwest side of the town. It is behind Vitalis’ House, for reference.
- Hand over the small bottle. He will take it, but he will want more.
Now, to get more mead, you need to progress into Act 2. Complete the rest of the main storyline stuff. When you complete the Lymbic Forge for the first time, you will get a choice of what to pursue. The one you want to do is the Ecstasy one that takes you to Pathem Abbey, which is located in Acasa Marshes, alongside Jova.

Return to Jova and give the drunk soldier the full bottle of Mead to get the keys to Captain Vaas’ Office. Image via Gamer Guides / Nacon.
Return to Acasa Marshes, you will find the APC is now in Jova rather than the main road. The map state updates and most of the guards move out of town.
- Head over to Pathom Abbey and complete the main story area
- When the area is clear, Abbot Jaffer flees from Jova, alongside Rebecca.
- You can now take the APC to Lake Cynon.
- Go to the Apiary at the far back area you can see from the cliff you enter Lake Cynon from
- Abbot Jaffer will be on the left side of the Apiary, standing next to some full crates of Mead. You will be able to get the
Bottle of Mead - Full from it. - Return to Jova and seek out the drunk soldier again by the inn. He will give you the key to enter Captain Vaas’ office.

With the key, you can now enter Captain Vaas’ Headquarters and complete the mystery. When inside, you can find the following items:
