There’s a lot of optional quests and activities in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, one category of which being “Local Events”. These are functionally side quests given another name, and while they’re not the most impactful in terms of moving the story along, these Local Events can still provide interesting stories and lore… and more importantly, the odd pet, trinket, or other rewards. This page will provide the locations and rewards of every Local Event in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced!

Page Breakdown

Local Events are minor side quests that often go unheralded - you can sometimes complete them without even knowing you started one!

Completing Local Events

As far as gameplay goes, Local Events are… odd. They are functionally side quests, but usually very small in scope and often unheralded to the point where you could accidentally complete some just by exploring. Case in point is A Just Reward, which just appears to be some stranded pirates on Abaco Island - kill them, loot their camp, and you’ve completed that Local Event. Clearing out enemies and looting chests you find is pretty standard fare, so unless you’re observant you may not even know that this was a Local Event.

In other cases, the only clue you get that a Local Event is under way is some ambient chatter from characters who are part of said Local Event. Along the northern docks of Havana you’ll hear a Spanish Officer talking to himself, and if you kill and loot him or pickpocket him, you’ll gain the Folded Palm trinket. Guess what? That was the Spiteful Soldier Local Event. Add to this the fact that some of these aren’t even marked on your map until they’re in-progress (often meaning you’re close to where they start) and it can be easy to miss some of these Local Events… not that they’re super important in the grand scheme of things.

It’s also worth noting that some of these Local Events may not start until you progress the main questline sufficiently. We suspect Local Events like A Moment of Freedom isn’t available until Edward Kenway has shaken off some of his more nihilistic personality flaws later in the game.

Between their mundanity, lack of proper tracking and staggered unlock requirements, it can be easy to miss Local Events! Use the table provided below to help find them:

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced is a remake of the 2013 game in the series, Black Flag, which was the fourth main entry. While the game retains the majority of the major plot points of the original, it offers some new content in the form of quests, reworked stealth and combat, and a lot more changes. Unlike recent entries that leaned toward the RPG side of things, Black Flag Resynced is still the same type of action-adventure as before. This guide contains the following content:
