Despite being prevalent early in the game, Stede Bonnet only makes a few appearances in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, with Edward previously seeing him with Blackbeard. However, the Captain Stede Bonnet quest gives us more information on the Gentleman Pirate.

You need to complete the Sequence 8 mission ‘Marooned’ before you can gain access to this quest. After that, it will come up as a side quest in the quest log and as a pop-up during gameplay.

Captain Stede Bonnet walkthrough

To start the quest, you need to meet the unlock requirements and then follow the marker to Great Inagua. There, Edward will receive a letter from Bonnet, suggesting he’s currently in prison in Charles-Towne, but asking Kenway to check on his crew and treasure.

So, it’s up to you to sail off to Mystery Island to find the ship and the potential rewards. While you can explore the area that the map marker suggests, the actual coordinates for Bonnet’s ship, The Revenge, are (906,122). There, you’ll find the boat run aground, with no crew in sight.

Investigate the deck, and soon you’ll be threatened by pirates. However, they’ll recognise you’re Edward and, smartly, back away. Good thinking, lads. The pirates will explain that some of Bonnet’s crew took the key to his gold and started a mutiny, and have been making things difficult for the local crew.

You and Bonnet’s crew will meet up with the mutinous pirates, before fighting and coming victorious - it’s a pretty basic battle. Moments after, the British Navy will appear, looking for Bonnet’s treasure. Time for another fight that, thankfully, is also pretty swift.

Once that’s done, you just need to head back to The Revenge, unlock the hold, and uncover Bonnet’s quarters full of rich decor and a letter pinned to the desk by Stede’s dagger, which he bought at the beginning. Sadly, the letter says he is to be hanged the next day for piracy.

After that, you’ll receive a portrait of Edward’s friend, which the last part of the quest will ask you to place in the basement at a little shrine. Once this is done, the quest will be marked as complete.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced is a remake of the 2013 game in the series, Black Flag, which was the fourth main entry. While the game retains the majority of the major plot points of the original, it offers some new content in the form of quests, reworked stealth and combat, and a lot more changes. Unlike recent entries that leaned toward the RPG side of things, Black Flag Resynced is still the same type of action-adventure as before. This guide contains the following content:
