This page will provide a walkthrough for the side quest Art Lover in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a new quest added in the remake that tasks you with scouring the Caribbean in search of Lady Catherine Ann Summers’ scattered collection. Naturally, this includes providing the location of every such art piece required to complete the quest!

Page Breakdown

During “This Old Cove” you’ll be asked by Bernard Woodhouse to recover Lady Summers’ art collection.

Starting Art Lover

Quite likely the first new quest you’ll stumble upon, to unlock the side quest Art Lover you need to advance the main questline until you reach the quest This Old Cove (Formerly Sequence 04: Memory 01). After following James Kidd around you’ll end up in the manor, surfacing from the caves Kidd led you through, where you’ll be bothered by one Bernard Woodhouse, butler to the late owner of the estate, Lady Catherine Ann Summers. This quest cannot be missed - it’ll begin as long as you advance the main questline far enough.

Finding the Art Pieces

This quest is somewhat piecemeal - you’ll be initially tasked with finding 15 art pieces, after which you’ll have to report back to Woodhouse, then you’ll need to get 25, and finally 30. The art Lady Summers collected was surprisingly varied, including paintings, indigenous relics (ethically sourced, no doubt), ship models, and more.

The means of obtaining all these are equally diverse: Some can be found in chests, obtained by looting warehouses, purchased from merchants, or, in the case of model ships, acquired automatically when you sink or capture a ship of the same description. This latter method covers a fair few of the art pieces you need to find - the first time you best a Cutter, Schooner, Brig, Frigate or Man-o-War you’ll get a model, with English and Spanish variants yielding unique art pieces. In addition you’ll need to advance the main questline as every famous ship you step foot on also seems to offer you a new ship model; in fact, The Revenge will probably be the first art piece you collect as part of progressing the main story, well before this side quest even starts.

Suffice to say, you’ll have to play a lot of the game to find enough art pieces to complete this quest, engage in a variety of activities (side quest, main quest and extraneous activities), so it’s not a quest you’ll just be able to focus on and complete in a single go. Below you’ll find a list of all the art pieces we’ve found and where we obtained them:

You’ll get rewards when you turn in 15, 25 and 30 art pieces, starting out with Le Bourgeoys Baldes,

while ending with goodies like the Master Assassin Outfit.

Art Lover Rewards

You will need to collect a total of 30 art pieces throughout the Caribbean, but this quest’s rewards aren’t all back-loaded. When you get 15, 25 and 30 art pieces you’ll need to return to Bernard Woodhouse and talk to him, earning some new goodies each time. The rewards you’ll get are as follows:

All Art Lover Rewards

Art Pieces Rewards
15 Found Coin, Le Bourgeoys Blades
25 Aquila Figurehead, The Aquila’s Sails, The Aquila’s Wheel
30 4,000 reales, Master Assassin Outfit, Obsidian Hull

There are more than 30 art pieces to collect, so you don’t have to be perfect to finish this quest. As long as you raid each Warehouse once, loot chests in areas, and prevail in naval combat over a wide array of ships, you’ll complete Lady Summers’ collection well before the end of the game.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced is a remake of the 2013 game in the series, Black Flag, which was the fourth main entry. While the game retains the majority of the major plot points of the original, it offers some new content in the form of quests, reworked stealth and combat, and a lot more changes. Unlike recent entries that leaned toward the RPG side of things, Black Flag Resynced is still the same type of action-adventure as before. This guide contains the following content:
