Player 1: Once you enter the room, you should notice the two red buttons up on the wall straight ahead of you. There are also two Arial Faith Plates located on the ground on both the left and right-hand side of the room. Your first task is to plant a portal on the blue ‘target’ on one of the walls, and then place an exit portal (at the same height) on the wall above the entrance to the room.

Player 2 : You should place your portals on the opposite target and on the other wall panel just above the entrance.

Both Players : You need to synchronise this next move, so both of you need to stand beside the Faith Plates and count down. At the same time, stand on the Faith Plates, so the two of you are catapulted into the red switches at the same time, opening the door to part 2.

Part 2

Player 1: Upon entering, look up and to your right for the gel funnel rising into the roof. There’s a chequered panel to the right of it. You want to get your first portal on this chequered area.

Player 2: Your task is to set a portal on the chequered wall panel directly opposite the wall-mounted laser receiver and on the chequered wall panel facing the narrow corridor.

Player 1 : Run over to the lift in the top left-hand corner of the room and fire off your second portal on the ground just in front of the lift.

Player 2 : Quickly take the Displacement Cube down into the narrow corridor (with the spikey, smashy, wall trap), and aim the Cube under the laser so it’s hitting the receiver on the wall, this’ll in turn, start raising the platform that player 1 is on.

Player 1 : Now once the lift has nearly reached its maximum height, drop down into the portal directly below you and you and the velocity gained will fling you into the Arial Faith Plate on the wall, and into the switch that stops the spike wall from squishing you both.

Player 2 : Keep your metallic mitts on the Cube and bring it with you down to the room that leads to the exit. Now go stand beside the Arial Faith Plate (but don’t step on it) and wait for player 1 to prepare the next bit for you.

Player 1: You want to place a portal directly above the door and then another portal on the wall immediately behind the Faith Plate.

Player 2: Drop the Cube onto the Faith Plate (preferably with a bit of gusto) and it should have enough height to hit the red switch on the wall up above you (if it doesn’t, you need to keep trying until it does). Once the Cube hits the switch, the door beside player 1 will open for a very short period of time, so step back through the portal and head to the exit along with player 1!
