Where to Find Water
Colonist Bunker (Unauthorized NOA Modification) Location
When you first begin your game in Subnautica 2, in Survival Mode, you’ll notice that you only have 45 Oxygen. This isn’t a whole lot and you’re going to need to increase that before you’re able to take deeper dives. The first upgrade to your maximum oxygen will come from the Standard Air Tank, a blueprint that is available from the beginning of the game. Of course, you’ll need to obtain some Silver to make this, which is the hardest of the stuff you need.
Standard Air Tank¶
The first instance in which you can raise your max Oxygen will be with the Standard Air Tank. It might take a while to craft this, though, simply due to one of the materials needed, the Silver. You will have to wait a tiny bit before you go after this, as you want to make sure you’re well-equipped first. The [Scanner] is something you’ll want first, simply because you’ll encounter things you’ll want to scan that could potentially unlock blueprints. You’ll want to look over by the Old Habitat/Camp One, an area you’ll want to explore for various reasons.
When you begin the game, your max oxygen will only be at 45 capacity.
Making the Standard Air Tank will boost that up to 75, giving you more time underwater.
The Titanium is something you won’t really need to worry about, as it is quite abundant, and you should always be looting it whenever you can. The Rubber is sommething you’ll have to make, and the item that is needed there isn’t really something that’s rare.
Lucifer Rotsac¶
In order to make Rubber, you’ll going to require two Lucifer Rotsac, an item you might have seen but not grabbed yet. While exploring the beginning area, not too far from your Lifepod, you should see a blue-yellow plant that you can cut with your Multitool for Fibrous Pulp, called Cradle Shootroot. In the middle of these is a orange-colored orb that you can simply grab without doing anything else. This is the Lucifer Rotsac, so grab a couple of them, since you’ll need more Rubber than just the one for the Air Tank.
Silver¶
As already mentioned, Silver is the biggest roadblock here for increasing your oxygen, as you will need to start exploring in order to encounter it. Once you start getting to places like the Old Habitat and Camp One, you’ll want to start search the ground and any caves you find in that part. If you start finding Silver here, then you want to make sure that one of the first things you use it on is the Standard Air Tank.
The Lucifer Rotsac is easy to find, once you know what to look for.
Silver will be the biggest problem at the start, since you need to go a decent bit away from the starting area.
As always, whenever you have all of the requisite materials on hand, construct the Rubber first, then you can acquire the Standard Air Tank. This shoots your oxygen from 45, up to 75. There are more Air Tanks available (you can see them in Creative Mode), but the whereabouts of their blueprints are still unknown right now.
