Colonist Bunker (Unauthorized NOA Modification) Location
Colonist Bunker (Sophie's Retreat) Location
This page will guide you to the Colonist Bunker (Anita’s Garden) location in Subnautica 2, where you’ll find a Biobed that will permanently increase your inventory space when used. In addition, this page will provide information on noteworthy scans and loot at the destination and along the way there!
Page Breakdown¶
Swim to a Coral Dome east of the Lifepod,
then turn northeast towards more Coral Domes near the surface - there’s a pit with a current that’ll take you down into a cavern.
Colonist Bunker - Anita’s Garden Location¶
Unlike the Colonist Bunker (Unauthorized NOA Modification), this one is a bit harder to reach. It’s closer to your Lifepod, but you’ll have to descend into a cave, which can make getting back to the surface a bit tricky if you don’t know where to find supplemental air sources. Having some upgrades to your oxygen capacity would be nice, but it isn’t required.
From your Lifepod, swim towards a Coral Dome to the east. Enter this Coral Dome, swim through it, and turn northeast where you’ll find more Coral Domes near the surface of the water - actually breaking through it, in fact. Between these Coral Domes is a pit with a current that will drag you down into a cave system. Take the current down to find yourself in a chamber. There are plenty of Oxygen Tunics release bubbles you can use for oxygen, if you need it, and a Coral Dome to the north, northeast with an air pocket in the surface you can use, so you should have plenty of air.
Swim northeast (just to the right of the aforementioned Coral Dome with the air pocket) and you’ll find a platform with various goodies on it. Your mileage may vary, but ours included a Wakemaker Fragment and a Flashlight we could scan, as well as the Sophie - Jubilee Data Download. Just some safe loot worth grabbing/scanning, especially with supplemental oxygen sources so close. There may be other items worth scanning and looting in other chambers, but we’ll focus on finding the bunker and leave any other exploration up to your initiative.
From the platform mentioned above, continue swimming north, northeast. To your left will be another Oxygen Tunic and to the right will be a passage parly obscured by red Feather Kelp. Make sure the passage has this Feather Kelp growing in front of and beyond the entrance so you know you’re in the right passage instead of one of many other passages that will not lead you to your destination. Swim down the passage and descend a slope to reach a T-intersection, at which turn right to find the Hatch leading into the bunker. The interior has breathable air inside, so as long as you make it to your destination you don’t need to worry about air.. At least until you leave.
Colonist Bunker - Anita’s Garden Contents¶
The interior of this bunker is less generous than the Colonist Bunker (Unauthorized NOA Modification was. You’ll find objects to scan, including a Stool, a Single Bed, a Trashcan and of course the Biobed, as well as the Anita - Zip is Dead Data Download, but little else of interest. Still, the three extra inventory slots provided by interacting with the Biobed should be sufficient cause to come here, even without anything else.
To escape, leave the hatch and stick right at the first intersection, swim past some more red Feather Kelp and note that there’s another air pocket at a second interaction. At this second intersection, turn right and swim out of the cave system - you’ll be just over 30 meters under water, which should be a very easy swim to the surface.
