All Fences Locations

Depending on how you play your character in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, you might steal various items from people’s houses, or when you pickpocket someone. Should you do this, the item will have a hand icon next to it in your inventory, and you won’t be able to sell it at any normal merchant. That’s where Fences come into play, as they will be able to purchase those stolen items. This page will detail where to find all of those Fences in the game, as well as link to their locations on the map.

Fences are important, as they will buy stolen items from you.

All Thieves Guild Fences

There are two types of Fences in the game, those belonging to the Thieves Guild, and those that do not. As you increase your rank with the Thieves Guild, you will unlock more Fences, who have a higher gold capacity for buying your stolen merchandise. If you do join the Thieves Guild, then only their respective Fences will contribute to the gold amount needed to unlock more quests.

Fence Location Unlock
Ongar the World-Weary (map) Bruma; Inside Olav’s Tap and Tack or Ongar’s House Join the Thieves Guild (Pickpocket Rank)
Dar Jee (map) Leyawiin; Three Sisters’ Inn, Five Claws Lodge, or in Dar Jee’s House Bandit Rank in Thieves Guild
Luciana Galena (map) Bravil; The Lonely Suitor or Luciana Galena’s House Cat Burglar Rank in Thieves Guild
Orrin (map) Anvil; Anvil Castle’s Smithy Shadowfoot Rank in Thieves Guild
Fathis Ules (map) Imperial City; Fathis Ules’ House, Dul gro-Shug’s House, or Dareloth’s House Master Thief Rank in Thieves Guild

(1 of 3) Items that you can steal will always have their names highlighted in red.

All Non-Thieves Guild Fences

This is a list of all of the Fences you can find that are not part of the Thieves Guild. A good number of these are part of the Dunbarrow Cave, which was DLC in the original version of Oblivion (it’s part of the normal game now). For those in Dunbarrow Cave, you have to purchase the upgrades that add those NPCs there. Simply clear out the skeletons in the Dunbarrow Cave, then visit Dahlia Rackham on the Sea Tub Clarabella ship in the harbor at Anvil. She will sell you the upgrades to the cave, which cannot be haggled.

Fence Location Unlock
Jak Silver Dunbarrow Cave Purchase Supplier upgrade
Kovan Kren Dunbarrow Cave Purchase Spymaster upgrade
Melliwin Dunbarrow Cave Purchase Fletcher upgrade
Khafiz Dunbarrow Cave Purchase Fence upgrade
Manheim Maulhand (map) Inn of Ill Omen (between Bravil and Imperial City)
M’raaj-Dar (map) Found inside Cheydinhal’s Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary Join The Dark Brotherhood

As you progress The Dark Brotherhood questline, M’raaj-Dar will be replaced by someone else, who will also be a Fence.
