You can receive the “Fetch Me Some Furs!” quest from Navia who’s standing in the Plaza, midway through Main Quest 6, after opening the Armorer. Navia simply wants one Ebony Pelt, but doesn’t really explain where to find it…
Where to Find Ebony Pelt¶
There is one thing you can guess though; since it’s a pelt, it probably comes from a beast-type monster.
Specifically, it drops from the Wolf mini-boss in Hellhound Lake. You’ll have encountered it moments earlier during the “An Armorer With an Eye for Fashion” quest, while looking for Paint.

If the Wolf didn’t drop Ebony Pelt, return to the Great Forest and fast-travel back to Hellhound Lake. To easily defeat the Wolf, you can charge up an attack with Garoo, then perform a Link Attack while it’s down.
Since the Wolf is so fast, you should charge up before you see the Wolf. Then release the attack the moment it appears–the charged attack has excellent range and should hit the wolf. Otherwise stick with the nimble CJ since Garoo attacks and moves slowly.
