Sniper Elite 5

Paul McNally

Earning Skill points in Sniper Elite 5 unlocks extra tricks of the trade that can actually make the difference between success or failure in the game.

Skill points earned in Campaign & Co-Op mode can also then be spent in Survival mode. If you complete the campaign, chances are you will have enough Skill Points to max out both skill trees, but if you jump into Survival before you have finished Campaign, then you can also choose to spend the points you have earned in the single-player game, on different skills. Which can certainly come in useful for the different gameplay involved.

The three circles can be filled out by completing the Campaign mode of Sniper Elite 5.

Skill points are split into three different Circles on influence Combat, Equipment and Body. Each circle is split into sections with skills costing between one or two skill points to unlock. You earn skill points to use in the game by getting XP, and then you can immediately use them, even mid-mission on improving your stats.

Here we are going to look at the first circle, Combat, and looks at the pros and cons of each unlock and what you should go for first.

Best Combat Skill Points in Sniper Elite 5

To start unlocking skills in any circle, you need to first unlock the centre segment. From there you can then spin out to skills on the second inner circle, before finally unlocking those on the edges. You cannot unlock an outer circle skill, without first having unlocked the one leading to it.

In Combat the central segment is the ’Back in the Fight; Skill. This is a great one to unlock first out of any of the three circles as it allows you to revive yourself if you have a med-kit in your inventory when you are incapacitated.

Now working around the circle clockwise from the top inner circles the other skills to unlock are.

The Combat Skill Points section contains some useful traits.

No Time to Bleed

If you are incapacitated you can use your secondary weapons to carry on shooting while lying down. Not so much use in Single-Player but can be mightly helpful in co-op or especially Survival while a team-mate reaches you to patch you up.

Enemies are scope tagged when they damage you.

Steady Hand

If you are looking down your scope and get shot, the shake is reduced, allowing you to continue with your shot.

Grenade Throwback.

If a grenade lands near you you can quickly tap a button to lob it straight back from where it came.

Now onto the outer circle from the top.

Combat Medic

When reviving you can use all your bandages in one go rather than a Med-kit

Advanced Triangulation

Enemies are scope tagged when they shoot at you, they don’t have to damage you any more.

Swift Hands

Enemies are automatically searched during a melee takedown. Saves a little bit of time but hardly essential.

Quick Trap

Press a button to throw a quick trap down that is invisible to enemies, handy if you are being chased down the narrow streets of Northern France.

Best Skills to choose in Combat

For starters we would always go with No Time to Bleed here after Back in the Fight, which should be the first Skill Point you use. After that we would probably go for the Triangulation skills as it is always handy to know where the bad guys are.
