The Welgun certainly cannot be called a powerful SMG, and it has a disappointing rate of fire, but this replacement for the original Stengun holds its own because it is so quick to aim and look down its excellent iron sight.

The Welgun was designed as an improvement to the Stengun.

Welgun SMG Pros and Cons¶

The Welguns vastly improved mobility and accuracy over the original Stengun made it a popular choice of SMG. In game, it can be modded effectively into quite a dangerous weapon to parade around town with.

Pros¶

• Great iron sight visibility
• Quick aiming time

Cons¶

• Slow automatic fire

Audible Range¶

A more respectable audible range of 44m makes this a better choice for not attracting the entire neighbourhood every time you want to shoot a few soldiers. It’s still going to attract attention, it just might not bring the next town running when you fire it.

Zoom¶

1x - All the SMGs here are only coming with 1x zoom so it really isn’t a factor. The way you are using them, you probably want to be shooting from the hip rather than looking down the sight anyway.

Magazine size¶

Now we are talking. The magazine size of the Welgun starts off at an impressive 32, but can be modded up with a further 12, giving an exciting 44 cartridge magazine. Now all you need to do is find enough ammo on your travels to keep it fed.
