Best Guns in Nightingale

By
Matt Chard

When you reach The Watch in Nightingale, you’ll be fine-tuning your build. Due to the costs of the various end-game recipes, you’ll want to know what gun recipes you should spend your hard-earned T3 Essence on. There are three types of Ranged weapons in Nightingale, which are: Revolver, Shotgun, and Rifle, four if you count the crossbow, which is good in its own right. Each type of weapon will offer you something different in terms of playstyle so we will cover each type of ‘gun’, and what we perceive is the best.

Best Revolver in Nightingale

Revolvers are best used if you prefer to stay close to enemies. For this reason, they come with a dodge ability but lose range and damage for this convenience. After thorough testing, the Webley Revolver edges ahead of the Porter Pistol, but on bosses/enemies with larger weak points, the Porter will deal a bit more. Both are great weapons, and you can’t go wrong with either. Both of these weapons were crafted with Pursuit Ingots and Tier 5 Swamp Wood.

The Webley Revolver will deal the most damage per shot for a handgun.

Webley Revolver

Ranged Damage Critical Damage Magick Power Strength Durability Range Rating Mag Size
1,080 x3.1 54 57.6 1,440 108 6

Porter Pistol

Ranged Damage Critical Damage Magick Power Strength Durability Range Rating Mag Size
967.5 x2.4 54 57.6 1,440 108 14

Although the Porter Pistol has less overall damage as well as a lower critical damage modifier, it has a huge magazine, which means more shooting, and less reloading. Also, when you use the ‘V’ ability, the Porter will fire out more bullets, which is great against enemies with larger hitboxes. The Webley will outperform the Porter nine out of ten times, but the Porter Pistol is a remarkable weapon and well worth having, especially if you switch between the two.

Best Shotgun in Nightingale

Shotguns are best used in the mid-to-close range. Unlike Revolvers, these do not come with a dodge, but they have higher damage per shot to make up for it. This is often offset by low ammo. The Éclair ‘Paradox’ Shotgun is the best shotgun in the game offering unrivaled power. It has the highest damage per bullet than any other weapon in the game; unfortunately, it only has two bullets before you need to reload.

Éclair ‘Paradox’

The stats for this weapon are from material predominantly crafted from Pursuit Ingots, Fabled Sun Giant Ingots, and Sere Eoten Wood. You can craft better, especially if you use tier five materials such as Tier 5 Swamp Wood for the handle, giving you an extra 20% damage.

With the right materials, the Éclair Paradox Shotgun will deal the most damage for a gun in the game.

Ranged Damage Critical Damage Magick Power Strength Durability Range Rating Mag Size

    • Barrel x2
  • Handle x1
    • Pole x1
    • Fasteners x1

Best Rifle in Nightingale

Rifles are best used for mid-to-long-range battles, especially against bosses. These are the hardest-hitting guns out of the three types, but you won’t unlock these until late in the game. The Winchester stands out here as it offers the most damage per shot, especially if it’s crafted using the highest tier of materials.

Winchester Rifle

The stats for this weapon are from materials predominantly crafted from Pursuit Ingots, Fabled Sun Giant Ingots, and Sere Eoten Wood. You can craft better, especially if you use tier five materials such as Tier 5 Swamp Wood for the handle, giving you an extra 20% damage.

The Winchester Rifle has 14 bullets to a magazine while still maintaining high damage.

    • Fasteners x1
  • Refined Action x1
    • Action x1
    • Mechanical Gears x1

Best Overall Gun in Nightingale

For pure damage, the Éclair ‘Paradox’ Shotgun deals the most, while the Winchester Rifle will give you more flexibility as well as having to reload less. In general, we recommend the Webley Revolver or Winchester Rifle for general activities and the Éclair ‘Paradox’ Shotgun against bosses. Make sure you craft the various elemental ammo for the guns to further increase the damage you deal.

Nightingale is a PvE open-world survival crafting game with a few unique features for the genre. First among these is the Realm Card system, whereby players can discover and craft Major or Minor realm cards to influence aspects of procedurally generated worlds or character attributes respectively. You may find yourself in a more forgiving or hostile world depending on the Major cards you use, but the Minor cards can give you an edge against foes with boosts to damage, health, stamina, or other aspects of survival. The game is set in the Victorian era and has more than a little influence from Steampunk fiction, so if that’s anything like your thing, you’ll love this world!
