Points of Interest

  • In the right-most house you can battle Cynthia, Sinnoh’s Pokemon Champion. She has Level 75-77 Pokemon and can be battled daily during Spring.
  • During Summer, a girl in the left-most of the three houses wants to trade her "Munchlax" IconMunchlax for your "Cinccino" IconCinccino.
  • To the far west of town is the Riches’ Mansion, where you can find an item maniac after Abyssal Ruins’ relic items and a young boy yearning for Pokemon battles.

Guide

There’s only one location where Dive is needed and it’s coming up soon.

This sunny resort has quite a few happenings. First things first, head left from the Pokemon Centre to find a lady staring out to sea. Speak to her and she’ll gift you HM06 Dive ; teach this to a Water-type Pokemon and you can access Abyssal Ruins via Undella Bay to the east.

Next, if you head into the house directly above, you’ll be greeted by a familiar face if you played Pokemon Diamond, Pearl or Platinum: it’s Cynthia, the Sinnon League Champion! It’s not just any old cameo either, as Cynthia is interested in a brawl.

Depending on where you are in the postgame you… may… wish to defer the challenge for now, because she has a beastly team of Level 75-77 Pokemon. No sense getting your pride hurt if you can avoid it.

Trainer Battle: Cynthia

Look who it is! A familiar face from the past has come to test your skills with some very high level Pokemon.

Pokemon Level Type
"Spiritomb" IconSpiritomb 75 Ghost/Dark
"Eelektross" IconEelektross 75 Electric
"Milotic" IconMilotic 75 Water
"Braviary" IconBraviary 75 Normal/Flying
"Lucario" IconLucario 75 Fighting/Steel
"Garchomp" IconGarchomp 77 Dragon/Ground

Whew… Cynthia isn’t the League Champion for nothing. All of her Pokemon are monsters in their own rights. For starters, "Spiritomb" IconSpiritomb has no weakness unless you have a Fighting type that can hurt Ghosts. This cheeky bugger will also try to wall you with Double Team, so stay on the offensive.

Likewise, "Eelektross" IconEelektross requires a Ground-type that can negate Levitate–"Excadrill" IconExcadrill with Mold Breaker comes to mind. Her other Pokemon have easier weaknesses, so they’re more manageable. Just be careful when you get to "Garchomp" IconGarchomp, because it’s fast and strong–a terrible combo for you.

To the west, there’s a massive mansion–the Riches’ Mansion a.k.a. the town’s final attraction. Immediately to the south, there’s a young boy who wants a Pokemon battle. Don’t worry, he’s easier than Cynthia by far!

Once he’s beat, the boy will invite you into the mansion. If you return to the mansion on the next day you can battle him again, plus an extra family member. Then, the day after that, you can battle those two plus another. Until you beaten the sixth family member, at which point you can battle no longer.

Besides providing a healthy pool of experience, the Riches pay you a massive sum for each victory (hmm, where did we put that Amulet Coin again?). If you don’t mind a little shame, there’s a sneaky trick you can use here: before you defeat the sixth member, lose on purpose.

That way you can still rebattle the Riches on the next day. Losing will cause you to lose some money, but you will still gain a net profit provided you win a couple of battles.

We’ve got a serious problem here: what do we do with so much money!?

If that method of making money doesn’t suit your style or you desire more cash, go on ahead to Abyssal Ruins and plunder the ancient relics. When you’re satisfied, return to the Riches’ Mansion and head to the end of the west wing, where the item maniac father will buy the relics for muchos money.
