Lords of the Fallen (2023)

Thehk-Ihir Quest Walkthrough - Lords of the Fallen

By
Craig Robinson

It’s not every day that a creature, hunched and frail, gets to walk the lands where everything wants to kill you. Yet, here we are, with the NPC named Thehk-Ihir, able to cross a lot of the world and enjoy spending time with you as you approach various Vestiges as you cleanse the beacons. In this guide, we are here to assist you with the Thehk-Ihir questline in Lords of the Fallen, helping you find this traveling merchant, get his goods, and the rewards for completing the questline.

Where to Find and Complete Thehk-Ihir’s Quest in Lords of the Fallen

You must find all of Thehk-Ihir’s locations to progress his storyline in Lords of the Fallen.

Unlike the quests in Lords of the Fallen, Thehk-Ihir’s is to simply travel the world and find him at various Vestiges. The locations you find the chap in are as follows:

  1. Skyrest Bridge: He’s the hunched man who gives you the stick as you walk down the path leading to Pilgrim’s Perch. This is how you start the quest.

  2. Pilgrim’s Perch / Forsaken Fen Boundary: After you beat Sin Piercer, Mistress of Hounds, exit the cave tunnel, and he’s next to the Vestige before the mass boss at the start of the Forsaken Fen.

  3. Fen / Fitzroy Gorge Boundary: Once you defeat the Hallowed Saint at the Forsaken Fen Beacon, you can head along a pathway, which takes you to the very final moments of the Forsaken Fen, near a Vestige. This location has a route that leads to the Fitzroy Gorge, alongside the final lootable areas of the Fen. You can catch him directly near the Vestige.

  4. Path of Devotion: Next to the Vestige in Path of Devotion, which you access via the Pilgrim’s Perch key. When you reach the boss room area of Belled Rise, go right and follow the room and tunnels to a large grassy area, with dirt roads going down a hill. The Vestige is to the left of the cave exit, guarded by the dogs and a Hallowed Knight enemy.

  5. Manse of the Hallowed Brothers: When you reach the manse after defeating the boss in Belled Rise, you can climb the higher ends of Pilgrim’s Perch until you reach an elevator that ascends to the Manse. From there, go through the dirt road, into the makeshift camp at the back, explore the catacomb area, and then enter the grounds of the manse castle proper. As you ascend the catacombs, you’ll find a room directly opposite where you emerge, with the vestige and Thehk-Ihir at the rear of it.

  6. Abbey of Hallowed Sisters: Once you complete the Manse of Hallowed Brothers, you will progress into the Tower of Penance. As you defeat the guardian boss inside the tower, you can open the gates of the Abbey, near the kneeling knight in the Manse’s temple garden area, close to the Penance Tower bridge. Go through into the Abbey, and work your way through till you defeat a mini-boss nun-mage type enemy. From there, you can climb a few staircases till you reach the Vestige, where Thehk-Ihir shall be once again. When you speak to Thehk-Ihir this time, however, he says that it could be the last time you see him, which is true. Take this hint literally and buy any remaining items you want from him. As your next login and out or travel between vestiges, he will disappear.

While talking to him progresses the quest, there are a few more things you need to do to complete Thehk-Ihir questline in Lords of the Fallen. You will need to work your way through the Abbey of Hallowed Sisters, and then work your way to The Empyrean, which is the mini sub-area where the beacon of this region is held. With the beacon boss defeated, you shall get an achievement called Without Purpose. If you want a proper explanation as to what the story was all about, you can check the spoiler box below.

Essentially, Thehk-Ihir is Judge Cleric, disguising himself as a traveling merchant, following the routes towards the beacons, and the religious shrines and pathways. The Judges are essentially the Primarchs of the Orious faith, each representing a type of class that serves Orion, with lore from the first game backing that up, with Rogue, Cleric and Warrior. With Rogue being crippled and withered, it is his concern to travel alongside you, eventually with his goal to see his now forsaken sister, judge Cleric, dealt with, and her Rhogar corruption removed. And with his completion, Judge Rogue leaves Mournstead, as his mission is complete.

You can get an idea of how this works from our original 2014 guide on the ending of Lords of the Fallen 1 if you’re interested.

It is very easy to miss the rewards for completing the storyline, as you don’t need to go back to this location after beating the Empyrean beacon boss.

With the conclusion to the Thehk-Ihir storyline in Lords of the Fallen, a secret reward can be easily missed. You will need to head into the library in the Empyrean, which is that upstairs route you can access by entering the Umbral and ascending that destroyed building near the doorway. By heading there and approaching the balcony where the statue knights are, you can find an item pickup that was not previously there, containing the robes that Thehk-Ihir has been wearing on his travels.
