Lords of the Fallen (2023)

Lords of the Fallen Beacons Guide: Finding All 5 Beacons

By
Craig Robinson

Lords of the Fallen’s main quest line requires players to interact with the five beacons to progress the main storyline. Due to the five beacons being scattered around the place, there is confusion about where you need to go to get all five beacons. Moreso, there’s another confusion point as there are technically six threats causing red beams to ascend to the sky, with no real indication of how you access that. With that said, this Lords of the Fallen Beacons guide will locate each one with notes and guidance on how to access each one.

Lords of the Fallen Beacons Guide

This Lords of the Fallen beacons Guide will direct you to all five beacons, and then where to go after that to finish the game.

Before we go any further, it is important to note that how you interact with the beacons affects the game’s ending. If you ever walk up to a beacon and then fix it so it shoots the Orius light into the sky, then you lock yourself in the Radiance Endings. However, if you keep the Beacons as they are when you get to them by selecting the ‘Do Nothing’ option, then you can get the other two endings in the game. It’s something worth noting so you can start thinking about how you want to play the game, without giving too much away.

With that said, here are the beacon locations in Lords of the Fallen:

  1. Forsaken Fen
  2. Upper Calrath
  3. Fief of the Winter Curse
  4. Tower of Penance
  5. Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters

To access the Forsaken Fen beacon, you must progress through Pilgrim’s Perch, down into the Forsaken Fen. When you reach the Forsaken Fen, you need to fight your way through the two villages, and at the end of the long wooden plank path, it will lead to an area you drop down, with a vestige seed on the right of the path. Defeat the boss there, and you can interact with the Beacon if you so wish. If not, then walk down the path to get to the other side of the second village, which offers more loot rewards, or some potential pathway into the next region.

From the first beacon, you will now start to make your way up a long set of areas into Calrath City. First, you must path through Fitzroy Gorge, which will bring you to a ruined area. You can climb up and access the road leading to Calrath City.

Calrath City is then split into two areas, with the Lower City, and the Slums. When you reach the Slums area, work your way towards a long path bringing you to a bridge-like structure, which will take you to an area. Defeat the fire giant boss in the arena, and you can unlock two potential pathways from there.

Continuing through Calrath will take you to the Calrath Mining District, followed by the Sunless Skein. From there, you need to access another small area, and climb an elevator after a mini-boss to access the Upper Calrath region. Working your way through Calrath Upper City will lead to an undefended Beacon.

Next on the list of Lords of the Fallen beacons that need visiting is the Fief. You should have a note after defeating the fire giant in Calrath that one of your companions has headed that way. You can access the Fief by going to the Vestige at the Windmill in the tutorial village. From there, go left through the doorway, and enter a cave. Proceeding through takes you to the Fief, but without defeating an area’s minions first. From there, get the Fief vestige, and unlock the gate to the Fief and path the frozen front gate road. It will eventually lead to a cave, then a snowy wildland walkway leading to a ruined castle and a sunken village. Navigate through that, and it will take you to the third beacon location, guarded by a boss.

From there, you now need to get the "Pilgrim's Perch Key" iconPilgrim’s Perch Key and open the doorway in the Bellroom vestige point in Pilgrim’s Perch. This takes you through Bellrise area, where you need to defeat a boss. Defeating the boss grants a passageway to an area with an elevator, taking you to the Manse of Hallowed Brothers. The Manse is a mid-way point connecting both the Tower of Penance and the Abbey of Hallowed Sister’s beacons. Keep in mind that both the Abbey and the Tower of Penance have their own boss guarding the beacons, among other enemies, platforming, Umbral routes and other shenanigans making the path there harder. You will also need to do the Tower of Penance before the gates in the Manse open the garden pathway to the Abbey.

Where To Go After Reaching All Five Beacons?

Once all five are done, complete Upper Calrath and battle a boss, then move towards this door opposite the Upper City Calrath Vestige room, and then interact with it.

When you’ve encountered all five of the beacons in Lords of the Fallen, you will then get to progress towards a sixth beacon. The sixth beacon is in a location you cannot access, called Bramis Castle, that is, until all five are dealt with. The location of Bramis Castle is directly opposite the Upper Calrath Vestige point. Walk up to the door covered in a soot-like tumor, and you can open the door to progress. This will take you to a castle shattered with brimstone and lava, where finishing the following areas will take you to the final beacon.

However, the Upper Calrath Vestige becomes inaccessible thanks to an outside Umbral Blocker preventing access to this route. Instead, you must go through the shortcut leading from Skyrest Bridge to the Upper Calrath route. You will naturally find this shortcut when completing the Upper Calrath region, navigating through the remaining city limits, going through the castle, descending the ladder, and opening the door to Skyrest. Make sure to grab this when you do the Upper Calrath beacon at the midpoint of the game. When you need to do that, get ready for a boss battle before you can sort the Umbral Blocker out! Again, no spoilers here.

With that said, you will be on your way to beating the Lords of the Fallen Beacons main story quest, and completing the game with the ending you’ve been working towards, depending on your side quest and story-related actions.
