Antediluvian Chisel Locations: Upgrading the Umbral Lamp in Lords of the Fallen

By
Craig Robinson

The "Umbral Lamp" iconUmbral Lamp is a powerful tool for navigating the Umbral in Lords of the Fallen. However, if you intend to use this feature in combat, you can consume Soul Flay charges to stun an enemy and deal heavy Wither damage to them. It’s a handy tool for nuking down some of the stronger enemies in the game and certainly something you should use when struggling against bountiful elites and empowered enemies to mitigate risk. With that said, here’s where to find the "Antediluvian Chisel" iconAntediluvian Chisel locations in Lords of the Fallen, allowing you to upgrade your Umbral Lamp.

Antediluvian Chisel Locations in Lords of the Fallen

Antediluvian Chisels are often found in the Umbral and require Soul Flaying wall creatures in the mid to late-game areas.

Firstly, it’s important to note that this item is scarce to find in the game, and frequently, you must be in the Umbral to do so. These areas often appear around the mid to late game, too, so don’t be too concerned if you’ve still not got one after completing Pilgrim’s Perch or Fen areas. Again, you’re likely to be around 1-15 hours into the game before you get your first one of these items.

  1. Calrath Slums: The first Antediluvian Chisel Location is inside Calrath Slums. You need to go to the slums vestige in the Alehouse, as it is referred to in the fast travel menu. When you’re there, follow the stairs down the bottom, and you’ll find a hole in the wall. You can jump down onto the street from there. Do be careful, as there are often traps along the way. From there, roll through the mines to avoid taking damage and run up the road, rolling to avoid the crossbow snake men in the process. When you reach the top of the road, turn right into a square. Deal with any pests following you, including the potential ravager. When you’re ready, enter the Umbral, and try to deal or kite the easter island head creature near the stairs, then run past it. You’ll find a Soul Flay Creature on the wall in the square’s center.

  2. The Fief: After completing the main storyline in the Calrath Lower City and beating the Fire Giant Boss, you can return to Skyrest and find a note where one of the NPCS once stood. This note tells you to go to the Abandoned Redcopse waypoint, then open the bell door on its left. Go through that cave, and you will enter a frost Viking warrior mini-boss with some frost wolves. On the wall near the boss is a creature you can Soul Flay, granting you an Antediluvian Chisel.

  3. The Manse: The Manse is an area that players can visit after purchasing the "Pilgrim's Perch Key" iconPilgrim’s Perch Key. This will take you through another hallowed Knight area, and then when you beat the boss, you can begin your ascent over the final remnants of the Perch. From there, players can climb up and use an elevator to access the Manse. When in the Manse, make your way through into the castle ground, kill the patrolling knight and grab the Kitchen key. From there, access the Umbral and sole the Umbral pathing puzzle. When inside, you will find an object to Soul Flay near some archways from the kitchen to the barracks area.
