Starfield Caelumite Guide: Farm & Uses

By
Craig Robinson

"Caelumite" iconCaelumite is one of the more frequently found rare resources in Starfield, thanks to the artifacts you spend most of the campaign searching for. The artifacts are the campaign’s main goal, and they are always encased or surrounded by a small cavern surrounded by Caelumite deposits. While at first, they are not that obvious, they are used in some of the later game materials, researchers, and more. Here’s a closer look at the uses of Caelumite in Starfield.

What Uses are there for Caelumite in Starfield?

Caleumite is a material in Starfield often found near Artifacts, and used in high-grade stealth mods for Spacesuits and Helmets.

Calumite, for the most part, is notable for its highly valued resource vendor price. If you need some quick credits then you can sell all of the Caelumite you get from main story missions as you extract them for some top dollar.

However, leaving some spare is a good idea if you intend to craft. The reason for it is that the game offers you some really high-tech space suit mods from the Spacesuit Mod 3 research. You need a higher level spacesuit crafting skill to get this research tab from the research lab stations, as well as complete the previous research levels of the same mod type.

Once you do, you unlock some really good stealth mods for your armor. The most notable one is the Gravitic Composites, which reduces detection from enemies. This, of course, scales with the "Stealth" iconStealth perk to make you more of a silent assassin, which is very good for melee weapons build looking to get that 10x sneak attack from "Concealment" iconConcealment level 4, or for close ranged stealth shotgun builds, etc with 4x damage Concealment modifier.

You can also get the same Gravitic Composites for Helmets, with you unlocking Helmet Mods 3. This grants more stealth improvement against enemies as another option for helmets, so you can make Stealth operate as efficiently as possible.

  • You can also use Caelumite for researches, including the Spacesuit Mods 3 and Helmet option. You need 10 Caelumite to even research this, along with plenty of other materials like "Tungsten" iconTungsten, "Polymer" iconPolymer, Indicate Wafer, "Microsecond Regulator" iconMicrosecond Regulators, and High-Tensile Spidroins.

Other than selling for profit, or for crafting stealth modifiers on your armor, there is not another use for Caelumite from our investigations. So, this concludes what to do with Caelumite in Starfield, one of the most alien materials players can get their hands on in the Milky Way.

Starfield is an action role-playing game from Bethesda Game Studios set in a futuristic interpretation of space exploration and colonization. Earth has long been abandoned, but there are plenty of other planets in different star systems where humans have ventured and settled. You have the freedom to create your own character with a unique background, but the main story will take you through a series of adventures as you uncover more information about mysterious artifacts which create gravitational anomalies. Along the way, you can build and customize your own space ship, establish your own outpost, befriend and romance new companions, and more. As a Bethesda game, you can also expect to see a lot of creative mods which have the potential to change your experience of the base game, or take it in an entirely new direction.
