Best Laser Mods in Starfield - Pros and Cons

There are only two different kinds of laser sights - the Laser Sight and the Recon Laser Sight. The foregrip versions are for "Beowulf" iconBeowulf weapons (and the "Hunterwulf" iconHunterwulf for the Foregrip with Recon Laser Sight). So, that definitely makes your choice a lot easier! If you’re not in the market for dropping a load of materials and skill points into researching Optics and Laser Mods 3 to unlock the Recon Laser Sight, then you’ll just want to opt for the basic tier Laser Sight.

The Laser Sight and its Recon upgrade are great for increasing the accuracy of your chosen weapon, whilst also offering you a visual laser to help you with targeting your enemies. This is great for players looking to practice their aim! The Recon Laser Sight will also mark enemies, changing color when you’re aiming at a viable target. The "Keelhauler" iconKeelhauler, obtained during the Crimson Fleet questline, is a great early-game weapon that comes with Recon Laser Sight.

(1 of 3) The Keelhauler is a great example of weapon you’ll be rewarded in the early game that has Recon Laser Sight.

In our opinion, most players can probably do without the Recon Laser Sight since it is quite expensive to craft and research. A lot of players have also experienced bugs with the Recon Laser Sight not actually registering chosen targets. Whilst we’re sure that there will eventually be bug fixes relating to this, or even a community-created mod, you may want to air on the side of caution with this and stick with the OG base tier Laser Sight.

Starfield is an action role-playing game from Bethesda Game Studios set in a futuristic interpretation of space exploration and colonization. Earth has long been abandoned, but there are plenty of other planets in different star systems where humans have ventured and settled. You have the freedom to create your own character with a unique background, but the main story will take you through a series of adventures as you uncover more information about mysterious artifacts which create gravitational anomalies. Along the way, you can build and customize your own space ship, establish your own outpost, befriend and romance new companions, and more. As a Bethesda game, you can also expect to see a lot of creative mods which have the potential to change your experience of the base game, or take it in an entirely new direction.
