Part 1: Amp Tutorial
After a brief intro (and equipping your Amps), make your way down to the car park at the eastern side of the Brewery. Here you’ll find several spills with OD scattered about them. At this point, you’ll need to link together grinding, shooting and bouncing to increase your style meter.
Once you reach Style level 1 (it shouldn’t take long), hop down to the ground and use the rolling amp we just equipped to hit 8 different enemies.
Now we need to get our style level to level 2, again be sure to link together your bouncing, grinding and killing until you reach it. At this point our weapon Amp will become active. Use the weapon equipped with the Stun Rounds to shoot and stun 15 enemies to complete the objective.
After completing that, simply wipe out the remaining bad guys before returning to and speaking with Floyd.
Part 2: Base Defence
This section is the first of several base defence sequences that you will have to attempt throughout the game and although they are not the most entertaining sections of the game, they generally dish out the best rewards for your efforts.
The defence sequences have you protecting a vat at the centre of the base from attack for a period of 3 minutes against a seemingly endless swarm of OD. Fortunately there are traps and barricades in place to help thin the crowd and slow down the advance. In this location, there are two main entrances, both located on the eastern side of the Brewery.
The first wave of enemies will usually be made up of OD and the occasional Popper, and with the latter you’ll want to keep them away from the barricades and traps as much as possible. Clearing out all of these enemies will result in a second wave, in the case of this particular defence; you’ll have OD and Poppers to worry about as well as a Herker (the same as the giant mutant we fought in the intro). Focus on taking the Herker down, whilst keeping an eye out for Poppers approaching fortifications.
To defend the base, let the traps do their thing and use the wires above the base to move around and check on both entry points. Focus on eliminating the Poppers first and use explosives or other area of effect attacks when enemies are bunched up at barricades. When the Herker shows up, focus fire on him and when he falls, retreat to the vat and prevent any OD from approaching it.
Once the three minutes are up, the vat will wipe out any remaining OD in the area. At this point, return to Floyd and interact with the panel next to him to complete the level.
