The Boat here is our new fort in the Harbour District. This is yet another defence mission. It is very similar to the defence mission we did at the diner previously. As with the diner, the game will have you protecting two vats at the centre of the area. Again we need to keep them safe from attack for a period of 4 minutes against a massive number of OD. This time around we have some additional traps to play with (Tesla Trap, Grind Cooker etc.) and a bit more energy to burn – which means more traps!

The Boat’s vats are located below Floyd’s location, with one being on a higher deck than the other in the centre of the ship. Unfortunately, this defence scenario has three different enemy entry points: from the water, the rear and the land which means you need to be extra vigilant. As with the previous defence, you’ll want to place traps on the way to your barricades to slow enemy progress and others outside of the barricades so that they can have maximum impact when enemies bunch up. Remember that the Pyro Geyser and Senor Freeze traps require you to jump on the button at their centre to activate and the Grind Cooker trap requires grinding rails, so place these in easily accessible areas! When you have placed your traps, head up to the valve and turn it to begin.

The first wave of enemies during this defence will usually be made up of majority regular OD, with several Blowers, Gunkers and the occasional Popper. As before, you’ll want to destroy the Poppers ASAP to mitigate damage they can cause to barricades and traps. Focus on keeping the enemies away from the barricades as much as possible, whilst moving between the three entry areas.

With 2:15 left on the timer, the enemies will be wiped out and you’ll have a few moments to prepare for a second wave. As with the diner defence, your energy amount will increase, allowing you to place a couple more traps and because the OD will almost certainly have broken through your first set of barricades by now, use the traps to reinforce the areas immediately surrounding the vats.

The second wave will start with a scene showing a Herker jumping onto the deck with a horde of regular OD at its back. Focus on keeping him occupied, kiting him around the area whilst trying to prevent too many enemies from attacking the barricades. As time winds down a number of Poppers and Blowers will appear as well. Again, try to prioritise elimination of the poppers. At the same time, you’ll want to use every opportunity to damage enemies attempting to get at the vats.

Once the time limit is up, the vat will wipe out any remaining OD in the area. At this point, return to Floyd and interact with the panel next to him to complete the level.
