Shrine of the Oracle Location and Guide - Conan Exiles

By
Scott Peers

The Shrine of the Oracle is an ancient place of worship for the Serpentmen in Conan Exiles. It’s located in the Volcano biome in the northwestern part of The Exiled Lands map, and you can visit it at any time. The main reason you’d want to go there is to complete one of the numerous challenges that are associated with it. The challenges are given to each player daily, and you won’t always get one that relates to the "Shrine of the Oracle" iconShrine of the Oracle, but when you do they might involve tasks as simple as visiting the shrine, dancing at the shrine, or praying at the shrine. On this page, we’ll show you exactly where to find the Shrine of the Oracle and what you can do there in terms of completing daily challenges, but also how to acquire named thralls there as well.

The journey to the Shrine of the Oracle takes you through climates of both extreme cold and extreme heat.

Shrine of the Oracle - Volcano Location in Conan Exiles

The precise location of the Shrine of the Oracle can be found on our Exiled Lands Map, but if you’d rather just see the location in a quick screenshot, we’ve provided one for you below. To get there you’ll need to travel through some fairly hostile regions, including the unforgiving cold climate around the "Icespire Chasm" iconIcespire Chasm and "The Highway" iconThe Highway. Here you’ll find plenty of dangerous predators such as "Sabretooth" iconSabretooth, "Black Ice Rocknose" iconBlack Ice Rocknose, and "White Dragon" iconWhite Dragon mini-bosses. You can choose to fight these if you wish, but you’ll need to bring consumables that provide cold resistance if you don’t already have the appropriate gear.

If you want to beeline for the Shrine of the Oracle and would rather not fight the numerous enemies along the way, you can just sprint through the snowy mountaintops instead. It helps to have some food that can provide stamina regeneration for this, such as the Feast of Mitra, so be sure to stock up on these or an equivalent before you set off. You’ll also need to keep in mind that once you reach the Volcano region, you’re in danger of becoming too hot instead. For this reason, you need to prepare consumables and gear that are appropriate for survival in both climate extremes.

How to Complete Challenges at the Shrine of the Oracle

As mentioned above, the main reason why you’d be traveling to the Shrine of the Oracle is to complete one of the various challenges that you can get from the daily challenge pool. You can view your current challenges by opening your inventory, then navigating to the “Challenges” tab between “Map” and “Battle Pass”. It’s not guaranteed that you’ll have a challenge related to the Shrine of the Oracle on any given day, but you can reset your challenge pool up to three times per day to try and force one if you want. However, even after resetting the challenges three times, you may not have one related to the shrine.

In truth, you’re not missing out on much if you don’t get a challenge related to the Shrine of the Oracle. They’re usually incredibly simple, and may even ask you to do something as simple as visit the shrine on that particular day. On other days, you may be asked to pray at the shrine, dance at the shrine, or use a different emote while standing inside its boundaries. Whatever it is, it’ll be a simple task. The most difficult thing about it is actually getting there.

Recruit Named Thralls at the Shrine of the Oracle

A more interesting thing to note about the Shrine of the Oracle is that you will always find up to five different thralls standing around it. These thralls are passive initially, but they will become hostile if you attack them. The thralls usually consist of lower-tier fighters, sorcerers, cooks, and other relatively low-value thrall types. However, there’s a chance for more powerful named thralls to spawn here, so if you kill the regular ones you can camp the spot and wait for one to spawn if you wish.

In addition to the five thralls that are always present, there’s also a named thrall known as Vathis the Hierophant. This used to be one of the more powerful combat thralls in the game, but unfortunately, you can no longer inflict damage on them, or knock them out to obtain them as a thrall. All you can do now is speak with them to learn some generic history about the Shrine of the Oracle.
