What is Tanzin Port?

Tanzia Port is the hub for all multiplayer activities in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate but that doesn’t mean you should only visit to play multiplayer – alongside a general store, canteen, armory and Blacksmith that work similarly to those in Moga, Tanzin also offers a few unique services.

Felyne Courier

You can earn an award for collecting a lot of guild cards.

Upon entering Tanzin you’ll pass a cat wearing a large red hat. This cat is the courier for all things SteetPass, should you be playing on the 3DS, and on Wii U he’ll still do a job of collecting the guild cards that online players send you.

These cards share information such as weapon use, medals earned, and even best times in the arena.

Granny Go To

It's worth checking Granny at the port even when not playing multiplayer.

You can see Granny in the first area, lugging around the massive back-pack. Granny sells her own items, including many harder to find bugs and mushrooms, as well as bombs and trap meats. It’s worth checking Granny’s stock whenever you’re passing.

The Quest Counter and Quest Board

It's best to chat to other players and elect a quest chooser.

When taking a quest in multiplayer it’s up to one hunter to speak with either the Guild Clerk or Arena Clerk. Once that one hunter elects a quest to undertake it will then appear on the bounty board to the left of the counter.

After all player’s have 'accepted' the quest from the board they must all head to the northern exit to 'ready' themselves before the first hunter launches the quest. It’s important to make sure everyone is ready before starting a quest, as there are no late entries allowed.

Arena Counter

Top scores are also shared via StreetPass.

To the right of the main counter you’ll find a girl accepting sign-ups for the Arena. The Arena is a special fighting environment in which you will choose from a list of pre-set weapon, armour and item 'loadouts' before trying to beat the current beast as quickly as possible. Performing well in the arena earns unique awards.
