Key Attacks

Spinning Top : The Rust Duramboros slams its tail into the ground and then proceeds to rotate, chasing the hunter very slowly. This attack can end in a sudden stop, or with the ’boros throwing itself towards a hunter through the air.

Tail Slam : The Rust Duramboros raises its tail high and then brings it down, heavily, to the ground. May step forward, and the slam will cause a tremor that staggers any nearby hunters.

Charge : The Rust Duramboros will lower its head and charge towards the hunter.

Flip Slam : Defying logic, the Rust Duramboros will launch itself into the air before crashing back down dealing huge damage to any hunter standing underneath.

Launch : The Rust Duramboros throws its tail forward, dragging its entire body through the air towards as distant hunter.

Recommended Strategy

Look at the size of that tail. Really look. Yeah, stay away from the tail. The Rust Duramboros’ tail is even wider than that of its grassy cousin and it will inflict a Muddy status on hit - avoid it!

Rust Duram will do everything in its power to get that tail above you, so deny it that reality as much as possible. Stand around its feet and you’ll be largely safe. You can even survive a Spinning Top standing here.

The best way to deal damage to the Rust Duramboros is via its humps. Deal enough damage to its back and you’ll expose the humps red core, which enhances damage yet further.

The humps are still vulnerable during a Pitfall Trap , so it’s recommended that you bring at least one to let you deal a huge bout of uninterrupted damage. Flash Bombs, too, are easy to use against the ’boros thanks to the huge Spinning Top move.

Just, y’know, watch the tail. And if Rust Duram gets into the air, run like an athelete!
