What is Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut

The Director’s Cut version of Ghost of Tsushima brings a whole host of new features that improve the experience of the game. This upgrade is available on both PS4 and PS5, with the PS5 seeing further features added to the game. Once upgraded, you’ll get access to the following new features:

  • Iki Island Expansion: An entire new island with a story focusing on Jin’s past. The content is roughly equal to that of Act I’s Izuhara.

  • New Techniques: - On Iki Island, you’ll be able to learn three new Techniques for Jin. Wind of Harmony and Wind of Concentration will direct you to new activities on the island while the Horse Charge gives you another tactical edge in combat.

  • New Armor: - New Armor sets can be found on Iki Island, including some that are inspired by other Playstation titles. Dealing with the Blood Stained Shrine will lead to armor inspired by Bloodborne for example.

  • New Enemies: - New foes await you in the form of the Eagle Tribe. Among these are the deadly Shamans that can enhance the combat prowess of other enemies in the area.

  • New Charms: - New Charms will allow you to tackle your foes in even more impressive ways.

  • New Activities: Alongside the open world activities from the base game, Iki Island introduces Animal Sanctuaries, Archery Challenges and Memories of Jin’s Father.

  • New Collectibles: You’ll be able to track down Records of Iki, Sakai Banners and new Armor Dyes.

  • Legends Online Co-Op Mode: This mode was added as a free update to the original game and returns enhanced and with more features for Director’s Cut.

  • Higher Resolution (PS5): There are new performance and graphic options available to PS5 players, making a beatuiful game even more stunning.

  • Instant Load Times (PS5): Ghost of Tsushima was already quick when loading, the PS5 version makes these near instant.

  • Dualsense Haptic Feedback: Using the PS5 controller, you’ll now feel all of the tension from using the bow to the gusts of wind.
