Saruiwa Overlook

By
Ben Chard

This is one of four Mongol Territories in the Iki Island Expansion for Ghost of Tsushima: Director’s Cut. These Mongol Territories must be cleared for a Trophy and will unfog the entire map of Iki Island once all four are complete.

Saruiwa Overlook is a Mongol Territory on Iki Island.

Defeat the Mongols

Travel to the south of Iki Island to reach Buddha’s Footprints and search to the west of this area to locate Saruiwa Overlook, a medium sized Outpost where your goal here is to simply Defeat all the Mongols.

This is the largest of the Outposts on Iki Island, but it still remains smaller than the larger ones found on Tsushima. With that in mind, you’ll want to approach from the north and climb the rocks here to survey the area while dealing with a nearby Archer on the watchtower and a lone Mongol just outside the entrance. Once dispatched, make your way into the camp via the broken fence at the top of the hill, allowing to access the rope where you can easily slaughter the Commander from above.

This may well alert nearby Mongols, but the ability to take out the Commander straight away is one that should not be passed up, especially as you have grass behind you that you can retreat to if you wish to wait out the alert phase. Once things have calmed down a bit, deal with the lone Mongol along the path here and then make your way to the enclosed area to the west of this camp to find three more Mongols, waiting for the opportunity where they all have their backs to you.

(1 of 6) Head to the south of Iki Island to locate Saruiwa Overlook

With this part of the outpost dealt with, leave this area and head up towards the bridge but via the upper level and use the Longbow to deal with the archer on the watchtower at the back. If you look to the right and down a little, you should see another archer and if you time it right, you can kill him so that it causes others on the bridge nearby to go and investigate. This will leave a single Mongol that you can snipe and proceed across the bridge.

At this point, you should have a full Ghost gauge, if so, make use of it to kill most of the Mongols that remain before turning to your Ghost tools such as Kunai and Sticky Bombs to finish off the others. This is by far the most effective method for dealing with this side of the outpost as most of the Mongols here are in pairs, meaning it’s very difficult to remain in stealth.
