How to Lift the Purple Seals
Best Ways to Farm Cashnuts
As you progress in the main story in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, you will eventually reach Ginormosia and get your first Mount. Anytime you’re not in a town, you can press a specific button to call your Mount and move around much more quickly. Of course, the Camel is just a free Mount, but there are plenty more to be found in the game’s world, either purchaseable from some shops, or as drops from specific enemies. It should be noted that Mounts are purely cosmetic, as none of them are any faster than another, nor can any jump higher than others.
There are a total of 18 Mounts in the game (as of this page being created), which usually come from one of three sources. You either get them as a drop from an enemy, purchase them from a shop, or get the recipe to craft them. This will net you 16 of the Mounts, with the last two just either being bonus content outside of the game.
There are a good number of Mounts to find in the game.

Black Horse and White Horse¶
For these two Mounts, you have to purchase them from the wandering merchant in Ginormosia. This is The Don, who initially gave you the
Camel, but after that story interaction, he randomly wanders the map. He always seems to be in two places at any given time, so look for the backpack icon while scouring the map. Of course, his wares are completely random, so even if you find him, it’s not guaranteed he’ll have the Mounts available. Don’t forget that you need to use
Cashnuts to purchase these, which can be gotten by completing the Challenges in Ginormosia, as well as using the Evershops.
Two Mounts are found in shops in the Past time period.
The one is gotten from the Material Shop in Lulab Forest.
Forest Panther and Black Panther Locations¶
There are a few of the enemy drop Mounts that can be tricky to locate, due to not knowing where to find the enemies. Two enemies are the
Forest Panthers and the
Black Panthers. The Forest Panthers can first be found in Lulab Forest, but only at night. However, if you go to the Wingtip Valley area in Ginormosia, there will be two sets of two each there. Likewise, the Black Panthers can be located in Yohoho Cavern on Tropica Isles, but increasing Wingtip Valley to Area Rank 5 will have them replacing said Forest Panthers.
King Woolie and Taurus Location¶
Farming
King Woolie can be tough, especially since the in-game
Encyclopedia only mentions it being found in Treasure Groves, which are completely random (it’s a boss encounter at the end). However, there is a set spawn found in Ginormosia, but you’ll need to get West Greatgut Plains to Area Rank 5 first. When you’ve done this, the creature will spawn to the west of the
Buffalo Base settlement. Don’t forget that this is a boss-type spawn, so you’ll have to wait five minutes before King Woolie appears again.
As with the above,
Taurus will also spawn in this same area, at Rank 5, althought it’ll be to the south of
Buffalo Base. You’ll also find it in the Cave of Trials B4, which is pretty deep in the dungeon. However, this is a good opportunity, since Taurus is a silver-crowned boss, so that means it will respawn by simply leaving the room/area. If you go to both places and defeat the Taurus, you can utilize the Teleportation Gate menu option to go back and forth between the Cave of Trials and Ginormosia. This allows you to instantly respawn the Taurus at both locations and improve the odds of getting the Mount.
Napdragon Cruiser RED Location¶
The
Napdragon Cruiser RED is one of three Mounts that you have to craft, but all three have different sources for the actual recipe. For the Cruiser RED, you’ll need to find the wandering merchant in Ginormosia (The Don) and hope he has the recipe for purchase. As always, his wares are random, so you will never know when he will have the recipe for sale (you need Cashnuts to buy it). Once you have the recipe, make sure you have the Alchemist Life unlocked, as the recipe requires it, and a stat level of 250 to succeed.
As for the items needed to craft it, you require the following:
Iron Ingot (x4)
Fire Shard (x2)
Beast Hide (x1)
If you can’t buy Iron Ingot at
Marco’s Shop, then you’ll have to make it yourself via the Blacksmith Life. Fire Shard is something you can get from the
Fire Starcrystal in Banaan Cave (Mining Life). The Beast Hide is a material that drops from multiple enemies, like
Sandzards (prevalent in the desert regions of Ginormosia).
Napdragon Cruiser BLK Location¶
The
Napdragon Cruiser BLK is another recipe, although you won’t be able to get this one until you complete the main story first. After doing that, speak to
Trip back at your base camp to learn about
Mysterious Slates and
Dark Fire. Particularly, you want to focus on the Mysterious Slates, which can drop from any of the shadow enemies in the game. The two biggest sources of these enemies are Fort Gardhart in Ginormosia and Monster Houses in Treasure Groves (one of the rare floors). The latter is the better place to find them, as the drop rate seems to be higher.
You’ll know a Slate drops, as it will be glowing. You can turn in the Slates to
Edward at your base camp (either standing outside the Guild Hall or will be inside it), with him potentially giving you new recipes. The only problem is that the recipe you receive will be completely random, and the one for the Mount seems to be on the rarer side. You just need to keep getting Slates and turning them in, until you eventually get the recipe. As for the items you need, they are as follows:
Silver Ingot (x4)
Fire Mana (x2)
Monster Hide (x1)
Steel Shell (x1)
The Silver Ingot should be self-explanatory, but if not, farm the
Silver Ore Deposits in Tropica Isles. The Fire Mana can be gotten from the Fire Starcrystal in Banaan Cave, and the Monster Hide can be gotten from
Jackals and
Flame Serpents, as well as a number of the related minibosses. The Steel Shell only drops from the
Steel Tortortoise enemy, found on the turtle-shaped island in Tropica Isles, as well as Fangshore Isles in Ginormosia (Area Rank 5+). You can also purchase one from the Material Shop in the same area.
Turboglider Location¶
The
Turboglider is another recipe that you can get through random means, although this one is tied to a feature in your base camp. One of the things you can purchase from Marco’s Shop is boxes, which requires you to use Celestial’s Gifts (the blue flowers). To be specific, you’ll have to purchase the
Dreamy Box, costing 80 Celestial’s Gifts each. To make matters worse, the recipe for the Turboglider is pretty rare, too, so it’s going to take a long time to actually get it.
There is one trick you can do, though, to farm it a little bit, since the blue flowers aren’t super easy to come by, especially playing solo. Before buying any boxes, save your game in front of Marco, but make sure you enable the Cross-Save option (press Square on the manual save screen on Playstation). This save is separate from your local save and won’t be overwritten by the auto-save that happens often. So, with this in place, you spend all your flowers on the Dreamy Boxes, then exit to the main title if you don’t get the recipe (the game auto-saves after spending them). From there, you can press Triangle (Playstation) on the title screen to reload the cross-save, to see that all your flowers are still there.
Once you finally have the recipe for the Mount, you’ll need to craft it, with the items it requires as follows:
Platinum Ingot (x4)
Flame Ruby (x2)
Nimbus Scales (x1)
Dragontree Wing (x1)
This is the hardest one to craft, simply because two of the materials require you to go into Treasure Groves. Platinum Ingots shouldn’t need explaining, as you can get
Platinum Ore from The Depths or in the northern areas of Ginormosia. Flame
Ruby is a little rarer than some items, but you can go into The Depths B3 to find the
Dragon’s Claw boss-type ore. This can drop Flame Rubies, but you can also get it from a specific enemy, too, the
Fortoise. This enemy is found in Moltana Wastes, but only at Area Rank 3 or higher.
Turn in Slates with Edward to find the Napdragon Cruiser BLK Mount recipe.
You’ll have to spend blue flowers to open Dreamy Boxes at Marco’s Shop for the Turboglider.
The Nimbus Scale is one of the two items that requires you to visit Treasure Groves. For the Nimbus Scale, you need to make sure the
High-Flying Fish is the boss at the end of the grove. Of course, for the Dragontree Wing, you’ll need the
Great Dragontree as the boss at the end of the grove. Due to the random nature of the saplings you plant, it might only take you a few tries to get the above two materials, or it might take a lot longer.
Pegasus Mount Location¶
The final Mount, as of this writing, on this list is a special case, the Pegasus Mount. This was added in Patch 1.3.2, as a celebration for the game’s sales milestone of one million units. Don’t forget that you can see the patch number in the lower right corner of the title screen. If you’re on this patch, then head to the Guild Hall in Eternia Village, where you started any of your Lives and where
Auntie Anne is located. There is a chest there and opening it will allow you to redeem the free gift, which includes the above Mount.
