How to Get the Raccoon Outfit Set
When you first arrive in Ginormosia, in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, you might notice something a little different. Checking any of the vendors you might come across, you will see that they don’t use
Dosh (the game’s main currency) there. That’s because they use something called
Cashnuts, a currency that is separate from that in the Past. You’ll definitely want to get a lot of Cashnuts, too, since some of the goods sold in Ginormosia aren’t for sale anywhere else in the game, plus some materials are just plain easier to try and buy over getting them yourself.
Cashnuts are a currency that is needed in order to purchase anything in Ginormosia.
Complete Area Challenges¶
For the most consistent way of earning Cashnuts, you’re going to want to complete the Area Challenges. These are the red speech bubbles that appear and flash on your map. They usually consist of you doing a gathering challenge or defeating a certain amount of enemies. Of course, the number of Cashnuts you get from these challenges will depend on how fast you complete them. If you take a long time doing the challenge, then you might only get a single Cashnut. However, if you complete the challenge quickly, then the amount of Cashnuts you receive will be higher.
Depending on the challenge in question, you can receive up to five Cashnuts. These tend to be the challenges that are not generic, like the Go See the Race one, as an example. The Area Rank has no effect on the rewards from challenges whatsoever, so if you are farming Cashnuts, it’s best to keep the Area Rank low to make it easier on yourself. Don’t forget that changing the Area Rank at any tower will reset the challenges across the entire map. However, you won’t always get the challenges to always appear at the same spots, although the locations are preset.
Always be on the lookout for Area Challenges while exploring Ginormosia.
The quicker you complete them, the more Cashnuts you will receive.
Evershops and Vegetables¶
Throughout Ginormosia, near the various Settlements you can discover, there are stalls that allow you to place any vegetables you’ve harvested (
Farmer Life) on them. If you place any there and come back at a later time, you will see they’ve been sold and you can collect some Cashnuts. Note that you can put your cursor on the Evershop to see if they’ve been sold or not, so you don’t have to manually visit them every time. The rarity of the vegetables placed at the Evershop will determine the amount of Cashnuts you receive.
Also, you can only place five of each vegetable in one spot at an Evershop, which means if you placed all of the same veggie there, you’d need a total of 30. For example, a stack of
Carrots might only get you 5 or so Cashnuts, but a stack of
Crimson Carrots (a slightly rarer version of the same type) will net you 10 Cashnuts. There is also a mechanic where you’ll see a favorite type of vegetable shown at an Evershop. Putting those vegetables there will give you more Cashnuts than usual.
Evershops are another way to get Cashnuts, but it’s something that takes some time.
Shadow Carrots are the best bang for your buck, although they aren’t exactly common.
Shadow Carrot Seeds¶
By far, the best way to get Cashnuts from Evershops involves
Shadow Carrots. A stack of five Shadow Carrots will give you a total of 25 Cashnuts, so a full shop of 30 Shadow Carrots will net you 150 Cashnuts. The biggest problem here is getting enough of these crops, since the
Shadow Carrot Seeds aren’t exactly common. When you get to Master Rank in the Farmer Life,
Marco will sell nine seeds every single day (real life), which is enough to fill up on plot of farming land. To get more seeds, you’ll need to do one of two things.
In Ginormosia, there is a spot of land with some crops over in the Viridia Plateau region. There will sometimes be Shadow Carrots in the ground there, usually as part of an Area Challenge. You can also find them in Treasure Groves, usually as part of the floors with farming challenges. It might be best to focus on Farming Treasure Groves if you want a greater chance of finding these elusive seeds.
Spending Cashnuts - Wandering Merchant¶
The best way to spend Cashnuts will be with the wandering merchant in Ginormosia. If you don’t know, this is The Don, who wanders around the map and will usually stop at settlements and campfires. When looking at the Ginormosia map, check for the backpack symbol, which indicates The Don. It should be noted that The Don’s wares seem to be completely random, or at least, what he stocks depends on the region in which he appears. However, as you raise the Area Rank of those regions, his stock will start showing rarer items.
In fact, he can have pretty much stock of every boss-type item drop in the game, including those exclusive to Treasure Groves. These items, of course, will be very expensive, usually costing anywhere from 50-100 Cashnuts each. So, if you are having trouble getting a specific boss to appear in a Treasure Grove, you can fall back on this wandering merchant, just in case.
