Farming Treasure Grove Saplings

There’s a lot to see and do in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time even beyond the game’s main questline and ranking up various Lives. If you’re a completionist, this includes a rather extensive endgame grind, much of which will revolve around exploring Ginormosia and plundering Treasure Grove dungeons to find materials that cannot be found anywhere else. To this end, this page will discuss how to efficiently farm "Treasure Grove Sapling" iconTreasure Grove Saplings in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time!

Page Breakdown

(1 of 3) Find the Treasure Grove tree along the northwestern edge of your Base Camp and plant Treasure Grove Saplings here to spawn new Treasure Grove dungeons.

Planting Treasure Groves

Once you unlock Treasure Groves in Base Camp, you can interact with the Treasure Grove tree along the northwestern edge of the area. Treasure Groves are randomly generated dungeons comprised of floors with various objectives - defeat enemies, mine ore, catch fish, harvest veggies, fell trees, etc., then move onto the next floor until you reach the bottom, where a boss or some sort (monster, fish, ore deposit, vegetable or tree) resides. You can get a variety of treasures by clearing these Treasure Grove dungeons, including, obviously, whatever materials you’re forced to harvest, but chests can also yield rare materials, Goddess Statues will reward you with "Redux Stone" iconRedux Stones and Appliques. Most importantly there are boss spawns at the end of Treasure Grove dungeons that can only spawn in Treasure Groves - if you want to reach Hero Rank in every Life and get every achievement/trophy you will need to run Treasure Groves for these otherwise unobtainable materials… and since Treasure Grove spawns and drops are RNG, you may have to run quite a few of them.

(1 of 4) To farm Treasure Grove Saplings, kill Mimics in Ginormosia!

Farming Treasure Grove Saplings from Mimics

Unfortunately, just about any boss can spawn at the end of a Treasure Grove, including, in many cases, bosses that will spawn elsewhere. In order to get the exact spawn you want, you may have to plant numerous Treasure Groves, but fortunately you don’t have to actually clear them to plant another one, and you can see what’s at the end of each Treasure Grove before actually entering it. On the downside, Treasure Groves require you to plant Treasure Grove "Sapling" iconSaplings, which are dropped primarily by "Mimic" iconMimics in Ginormosia. You are likely going to need quite a few of these to get all the unique materials on offer here - expect a few dozen, perhaps even over one hundred Treasure Grove Saplings. Suffice to say, finding an efficient way of farming them is going to be very handy information.

You will likely find quite a few Mimics when you’re exploring Ginormosia, but to farm them effectively you will need to find Mimics that 1) respawn frequently and 2) can be found near Towers or other fast travel points. There are at least two promising locations: One spawns northwest of Googlithy’s Tower in Shroomhaven and another can be found up the cliffs to the east of Googlilock’s Tower in the Viridia Plateau region.

You can farm these two Mimics just fine, traveling back and forth between the two until you’re sated, but there’s another option, too. Just pick whichever one you prefer (we’re partial to the one in Viridia Plateau), kill the Mimic, enter your menu and select the “Teleportation Gate” option. This will take you back to Base Camp, where you can immediately select the “Teleportation Gate” option again to travel back to where you were in Ginormosia. This will respawn the Mimic and allow you to hunt it again, and all in all using the “Teleportation Gate” may be faster in terms of load times than fast-traveling via conventional means. Also, with this method you don’t have to keep climb the cliff in the Viridia Plateau!

Farm as many Treasure Grove Saplings as you wish.
