Phantom Friendship Trophy/Achievement Guide

There are a number of trophies and achievements in Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time, some of which will require you to do some extra legwork to unlock them. Phantom Friendship will require you to find and have 10 Phantoms join your party. This isn’t a particularly hard trophy/achievement, since it’s just a matter of exploring Ginormosia and finding these Phantoms.

What Are Phantoms

You’re first introduced to Phantoms on your first trip to Ginormosia. Phantoms are basically temporary NPCs that you can recruit while you explore Ginormosia. You will find them just standing around in certain spots and all you have to do is walk up to one, speak to them, and slot them into your party. Phantoms have time limits, so once that time is up, they will disappear, but other than that, they function the same as your Buddies do. If they fall in battle, you can revive them, and they will functionally be the same as your Buddies.

(1 of 3) Phantoms are copies of your Buddies that you can randomly find throughout Ginormosia.

In fact, Phantoms are just copies of your Buddies, although they might not have all of the skills or equipment you might have already equipped on said Buddy. Despite what you might think, you will still find Phantoms, even if you have already recruited that specific Buddy, too. You can even have a specific Buddy and if you find the corresponding Phantom in the wild, then you can recruit them to have two of the same characters. For example, you found and reverted "Odin" iconOdin, with him currently in your party. You find the Odin Phantom while exploring, so you can recruit that version of him, too, to have two Odins!

Where to Find Phantoms

Phantoms don’t seem to have set places where they will spawn, but you almost always seem to find them close to campfires and the monster settlements. So, if you’re having trouble seeking any out, start at those places. There aren’t really any other normal NPCs standing around in Ginormosia, so it’s not hard to actually notice a Phantom. Note that just adding them to your party is enough to count towards this trophy/achievement. You don’t need to wait until the timer runs out, either, so you could potentially just keep recruiting all of the Phantoms as you come across them to get this done quickly.

You aren’t able to really do anything with Phantoms, though, as they are more of a stopgap until you can start getting Buddies. You are unable to change their equipment, nor do they level up, so once you get your Buddies in line, they become fairly worthless.
