Trophy and Achievement Roadmap

Getting all of the trophies or achievements in a game can feel like a wonderful thing, especially for a chill game like Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time. However, you should be warned that this is a game that can be grindy, especially for those looking to do everything it has to offer. A couple of the trophies/achievements can either be quick, or they could take you a few hours/days to even possibly get. However, nothing is missable, so you can play the game and enjoy it, then go back after completing it to get anything you may have passed.

There are many things to do in Fantasy Life i!

Depending on a few factors, it can take anywhere from 50 hours, to upwards of 120 hours, to get all of the trophies/achievements. There is multiplayer in this game and having someone help you with certain aspects can drastically cut the time down a lot. If you plan on playing solo, there is some level of randomness to certain things that can severely affect the time needed. With that out of the way, let’s break down the steps in which you should take things.

Step 1 - Play the Story

Since nothing is missable, you can relax and play through the main story without having to worry about anything. There are a few things you should keep in mind here, though, which can make things easier down the line. First and foremost, you should get all of the Gathering and Crafting Lives right away, and work on ranking them up as you play. Concentrate on a single Combat Life while you play through the story, hopefully using this as your main one for everything. Theoretically, you could do all of the Combat Lives at once, since they share quite a lot of enemies for their respective Challenges (you have to be using the Life to complete the challenge).

Additionally, make sure you loot and grab just about everything. If you see trees to cut down, or ore to mine, go ahead and do that to save time in the long run. You’ll need a lot of materials in order to get all of the Crafting Lives to the highest rank, so it helps to collect everything you see to cut back on the required farming.

Step 1.5 - Farmer Life

As you’re going through the main story, you will eventually unlock the Farmer Life. While the majority of this Life’s challenges are pretty easy, there are a few that can be a pain, as they involve the Boss Veggies. The best way to get these is via growing crops at your base camp in the Present. Whether a set of crops yields a Boss Veggie or not is completely random, so you’ll have to keep trying until you get them. Since there is a set period in which you need to wait after first planting/watering crops to water them again, it’s a good idea to do this as you progress through the main story.

Boss Veggies can be confusing, as they don’t naturally occur in the wild.

They can be quite a grind to get them, so you’ll want to always be working on them.

You gain more plots of land for farming as you do the Guild Hall requests for your base camp, so don’t neglect those. You might need multiple of every Boss Veggie, too, so it definitely helps to not wait until the end to do everything at once.

Step 2 - Ginormosia

A big feature that is unlocked fairly early into the game is a world called Ginormosia. This is an open world area that consists of various regions, and is home to a number of trophies. First, you’ll need to find and gather Strangelings, which you can turn into Buddies. You’ll need a total of 30 of them, although you’ll get 5 as part of the main story, so you will still require to hunt down 25 more. While fighting crowned enemies, they may sometimes drop a blue chest that will yield a Strangeling.

There are 10 of these that can come from those crowned enemies, and each of the 19 other Shrines will have another Strangeling. From those alone, it’s easy to get the required number for all trophies/achievements. In addition to those, you will also need to get at least one of the Legendary Recipes. There are a total of 16 of these recipes and you’ll need to craft one of the weapons/tools. Once you have, speak to any of the "Plundering Panther" iconPlundering Panthers to get a True Time version of it, which you need to then craft for a trophy/achievement.

(1 of 5) Ginormosia is a big, open world that you’ll need to explore for various trophies and achievements.

There are also hidden creatures, called "Leafe" iconLeafes, throughout Ginormosia. A total of 80 are hidden, but you only need to find one for trophies/achievements. You don’t have to do anything else with the hidden Leafes, if you don’t want to. Additionally, you can find copies of your Buddies in Ginormosia, called Phantoms, that you need to recruit to your party. They are temporary and you need to recruit 10 for a trophy/achievement. There are also stands, called Evershops, where you can place vegetables to sell over time. Keep doing this until you get a thank you letter after collecting the payment.

Step 3 - Postgame

You’ve now finished the main story and think you’re done, but you’re not quite yet. After beating the story, you will unlock a few new features, which are related to those purple seals you’ve found throughout some of the dungeons. You don’t technically have to do anything with the sealed areas for trophies/achievements, but you can get some easily accessible materials that are harder to find from two of them. To open the sealed areas, you need Dark Fires, items dropped from shadow enemies. While doing this, you will undoubtedly get another item from them, called "Mysterious Slate" iconMysterious Slates.

You can turn in these Slates to "Edward" iconEdward at your base camp to receive some high-tier recipes (strong enough, but just fall short of True Time versions for weapons/tools). Only a single recipe from a Slate is needed to unlock a trophy/achievement, but it’s good to get a bunch of them, since they can be powerful. Another thing that unlocks in the postgame are Gold "Celestia's Gift" iconCelestia’s Gifts. These are similar to the blue flowers, but much more limited in how many you get each day. A total of 50 gold flowers is needed to complete this objective, but you only get one to five each day. To get the higher amounts, do Buddies’ quests and give them gifts, where you should get a higher amount on the next real-life day.

Step 4 - Treasure Groves

At this point, it’s a good idea to start working towards the trophies/achievements for Treasure Groves. You might have dabbled with them during the main story, but at some point, they may become a little too difficult. As you complete each Year tier, you can unlock a harder version upon replanting a "Sapling" iconSapling. For example, you complete the Present tier, so when you replant a Sapling, you can proceed to Year 100. You want to keep doing this until you reach Year 900, the last tier. At this level, enemies/gathering nodes will be between levels 91-100, so it’s not the easiest.

Mysterious Slates are one of the postgame activities in the game.

You’ll likely be spending a lot of time in the random Treasure Groves.

The two trophies/achievements you’re aiming for here are for reaching Year 1,000 in a Treasure Grove (completing the Year 900 tier mentioned above), and for aging a weapon/tool for 1,000 years. The first is self-explanatory, but for the second one, you simply need to find an Aging Altar in the Year 900 tier, plant any weapon/tool, then finish the Grove. You can basically do everything trophy/achievement-related in the Year 900 tier.

Step 5 - Cleaning Up

You should now have the majority of the trophies/achievements, meaning you can clean up any others you don’t have at this last point. If you don’t have all of the Lives at Hero, then do that now. As mentioned, there are a few that require materials from the Grove exclusive bosses, but you can also buy those materials from the wandering merchant in Ginormosia. Probably one of the last trophies/achievements you will unlock is the one called Weaponry Grilled to Perfection.

This requires you to destroy the Level 99 Wooden Dummy by the Hunter Life Master in Eternia Village. You’ll need a very strong weapon, and a higher leveled Combat Life (probably 80+, at least). The reason it’s difficult is that the dummy has high defenses and heals periodically for 20,000, so you need to outdamage that heal. Once you can do that, then destroying the dummy shouldn’t be too difficult, although you’ll likely need a good number of "SP Potion" iconSP Potions to restore your SP, as the most effective means is doing charge attacks on all of the classes.
