Infinity Ward has announced what the 50GB update for MW2 is all about. The update is a general address of a ray of bugs, detailing some of the upcoming plans for the Season 1 patch due to arrive in a few weeks. Here is a quick snippet of what is in the MW2 patch notes for Week One.

MW2 Week One Patch Notes¶

The core of the MW2 Week One Patch Notes is largely bug and feature fixing. The highest profile fixes are as follows:

• PC players who updated the latest Nvidia driver for October 26 should now have reduced crashing and visual artefacts. The slight stuttering is still getting gradually worked on by Beenox.
• The weapon-tuning feature is back, the feature no longer causes crashes when using weapon-tuned loadouts.
• There are also general stability improvements, especially when it comes to pre-made lobbies crashing when in queue.

However, the team behind the game needed help to get the following features done. These will likely be addressed come the Season 1 launch:

• Weapon balancing. The devs are still collecting data from each weapon, and the countless attachments. Expect nerfs and buffs to come around Season 1 launch.
• The ping system is still largely disabled, thanks to the permanent bug of enemies getting tracked. PC players still have some features of the ping system available.
• Some map exploits and changes will come ahead of Season 1.
• The devs are also aware of issues with the DDOS and Riot Shield exploit, but no fix as of yet.
